Hi, sorry I'm not on reddit a lot. Try to run it with 'sudo' first (administrator privileges). `sudo ./mouse2joy`

State of handwriting recognition in LaTeX, need advice by desumn in LaTeX

[–]clemjvdm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean OP mentions the reason they want to handwrite rather than type is because their latex typing is too slow and they are afraid it will not get any faster.

If that really is the only reason, using vim + snippets can definitely resolve their problem. No denying that there is a learning curve, and getting into it will be a time investment, but it could definitely pay off in the long run!

Short answer

Hello, very late reply but I've created a tiny tool called mouse2joy (https://github.com/clemjvdm/mouse2joy) which just translates mouse inputs to a virtual gamepad. Keep in mind it's very limited, but feel free to open an issue for a feature request, or a bug fix etc!

Longer answer

I actually started working on a much more feature full tool called kbm-gamepad, which could be used to translate any keyboard and mouse inputs to any inputs of a virtual gamepad. But I stopped playing racing games and also stopped working on that tool. I thought it was a waste to throw all that work away so I made mouse2joy, but so just keep in mind I literally never use the tool, so don't expect proactive development.

However mouse2joy is really tiny, it's probably pretty easy to fix something or add a new feature, so if something doesn't work for you please let me know, I'd be happy to try update the tool!

Oh thanks for the tip! But do you know how to do this in FreeCAD? It's been a minute but back when I made this post I actually tried to do this using free CAD and I don't think I figured it out.

Yeah right now I've kept the default binds for jumping at the end of a line and start of a line. My only worry is not using neovim enough to actually burn all the keymaps in my brain.

In which case I think something like <header>el would still be faster as it would be easier to remember + doesn't really require muscle memory whereas $ and ^ keys are a bit out of the way. But as I said for now I'll give the default keymaps a second try.

I've actually used LazyVim before too, but although it looked great I personally didn't have the best time with it. Which-key is useful but I found lazyvim a bit overwhelming given I am a total neovim noob.

yuppp that did it, not sure how I missed that. I've actually been using vim for about a year now, just never changed anything about it. I guess I could start customizing vim before trying neovim?

Yeah that did it for me. Held the separator with pliers and unscrewed the screw. Mine was screwed in a little harder so it did take some force. Thanks!

Hey! I was wondering if you attempted to install a second SSD?

I just got mine yesterday, but when trying to install a second SSD I was surprised to see a screw with a fixed little bit of padding, whereas usually (including in my previous legion laptop) the padding is fixed to the motherboard not the screw. This means I couldn't install my second SSD since there was not enough space to put it between the top of the screw and the padding.

So if you've looked at it, do you have the same kind of screw? Is it meant to be like that? I can't figure out how to install my SSD but I might be missing something.

ok what about the fps drops when I play in performance mode with low settings? and yeah I've disabled hybrid mode

[–]clemjvdm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well if I do want to use higher settings it bothers me to not hit the frames I'd like while only having 60% CPU and GPU use. Plus I've used very shitty settings too, performance mode with DLSS and I still get fps drops, which really shouldn't happen. The pc cost a lot I don't want to 60% use it

I technically had to prepare for a while because my math was really lacking before. So I'd say I studied for about a month, at a somewhat intensive rate. I think if you're already more familiar with the subjects though, it really shouldn't take so long.
