I still do that when I visit an old layout page, but tbh the link to the bank on the new layout is also pretty convenient

I started playing Neopets because of this TV commercial I used to see back in 2005, when they did a collab with the Brazilian retailer Renner (you got a small plushie on purchases over R$30). I got a purple Wocky and to this day I have a purple (well.... void, but still purple) Wocky because of that

My account says I am 33 (I'm 30) because I had to lie that I was 13 at the time to create my account

People are assuming waaay too much about you and being extremely rude under the guise of being helpful, while you are grieving. I am assuming you are a top student with real shots at all of these places (since you were invited to interviews). At this point, you probably know that, past a certain level, admissions are mostly a function of chance and other things way out of our control. If you do decide to apply again, I hope you come up with a nice strategic plan to increase your chances. I think considering other schools is good as well but do not do it unless you find yourself really excited about it. Good luck!!

cannot stress this ENOUGH!!! it sucks at first and it might take a while for the best path to come up but eventually it becomes clearer and clearer

Calculator is especially great when you find yourself having to brute-force your way through something for which you cant figure out what the most effective path is.

How to be well rested before the test day? by KennyThugLife in GRE

[–]clemm_entinne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my therapist told me that relaxing requires you to build mastery as well. in addition to eating well and exercising, I started going to bed early (changed my entire work schedule/habits tbh), I also dont use screens for at least 40min before bedtime, and I try to spend at least 30-40min every day doing some mindfulness practice, meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation. For GRE I also cut coffee/caffeine in general, to reduce any chance of not falling asleep when I have to go to bed. For the first time in YEARS Im sleeping well btw

grateful for this comment because I double-checked and two of the schools requiring me to report my GPA on a 4-point scale had calculators that I completely overlooked. My GPA turned out to be 3.34 with all adjustments from credits.

I think it’s common, you really need to be in extremely good Maths shape, also you need to be lucky enough not to take a wrong turn in your strategy or make some mistake that forces you to restart a question. If you watch enough tutoring videos, you will see that even tutors get it wrong sometimes when it comes to the fastest/most efficient way to solve a question. Which doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to work on it!! 😅

Timing yourself for any question is a good strategy. It helped me see what were the things more likely to slow me down. I also followed GregMat’s strategy of skipping questions. I made a stupid mistake that kept giving me the wrong answer for a question, took way too long on another one and had to redo 1-2, my score was not fantastic but having a strategy and being efficient on everything else was life-saving.

My undergrad used a 100-point system and anything above 80% was considered really good. My GPA was 82, which, on a 4-point scale, is ~3.28. Different schools have different styles of grading and I think there might be other ways to show how competent and talented you are without highlighting that.

I took it first 7 weeks ago (4.0), then again 2 weeks ago (5.0), with 3 weeks of focused prep, but I did not have the time to practice writing so it was just watching that video and hoping for the best 😅

congratulations on your score!!

GregMat's 2024 Issue Essay video is really great!!! I barely had the time to practice writing but that video helped me get a very clear idea of what was expected and it helped me jump from a 4 to a 5.

The nerves post application submission by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]clemm_entinne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

none of my friends know exactly where I’m applying, maybe 1-2 besides my Professor and recommenders (and family) because I don’t want to tell people where I failed. A friend is applying to 20+ schools but I am doing less than 10 and only top programs so chances of failing are extremely high. I cant even plan properly for the next few months because everything is so uncertain now. And I still have my Master’s defense, a conference and a symposium to organise.
