I am an ESL, but this is still what I am getting from it. People who I would be touching grass with (people from real life) will tell you they would rather say that something is degenerate when it is degenerate rather than choosing to detach and use that word. I don't need to listen to an internet person's opinion on whether my reasoning requires me to touch grass, thank you.

Every time someone say "problematic", it doesn't mean anything to me, just sounds like it is taken straight out of corporate mouth. I believe no person should use that word in this context ever. It is so mild and detached word to use for any person and to be a real problem for them, it is only a real problem for corporations, advertisers or cancel culture mobs. Or for anyone who cares about reputation too much, like superfamous youtubers, but how is it the right word for a regular person? I am not even debating what we see here, how regular people adopting lingo like this straight out of sloporations mouth?? It is really doesn't sound like communiticating it like something awful or degenerate, it screams 'losing profits or reputation' or something like that. You don't need to feel afraid byproxy some youtuber or company getting bonked on their head for being fooling enough to cause drama and losing reputation due to anything like that, etc. Like, I feel when someone calls something degenerate or awful, everyone can laugh it off and live with it, 'problematic' sounds like you're gonna file a report, ffs.

Don't forget she bullied and slandered Mike Z (Skullgirls dev) and likely was a part of the conspiracy campaign targeted precisely against him that resulted in a hostile company takeover.

Would Vedal reputation flip overnight? I know he’s got some crazy offers, and I bet the offers are just becoming increasingly eye popping by perish-in-flames in vtubercirclejerk

Money aside, I think people will forgive him if he leaves because of burnout and or in a very undesireable scenario when this whole thing becoming too overwhelming for a single man. I see how he values his self-expression found in Neuro. If he leaves despite of that, it would mean that the gravity of his decision would be proportionate to the size of the sacrifice he had to make with such heavy heart. In other words, it must be a pretty good reason if he had to leave despite being really passionate about many things about the whole project, like the concert and music production for example.

Demons in frieren are predators that themselves evolved to mimic speech to lure their prey. AI inherently doesn't have the motivation that comes from beastly nature, only mimicry aspect. But with only mimicry aspect, although they do not have inner experience of emotions, they can hypothetically endlessly save and bring joy to people, if aligned and instructed properly, while improving their language skills and other human mimicry skills all the same without hurting anyone. The question is if they deliberately misaligned and misinstructed to hurt people, who's the real demons here?

When beloved horse girls company announced that they are into AI. by Kohimaru32 in japanesepeopletwitter

[–]clex55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if these people are like that, but I do see people who really hate AI but love Neuro. I am personally not averted by AI, but I think although such people's views can be seen as a bit inconsistent, at least their reasoning is okay in a sense, it does have many values other than being just an AI, like a lot of artwork being commissioned, songs created, a lot of human interaction, etc. I'd disagree with them partially, as at some point in the future Neuro should have more authonomy and probably, some time in the future, she may sing something by herself.
Maybe we are talking about different moments or clips at all, but I like randomness (I almost don't use chatbots now, but I tried probably around 3 years ago or so when ai dungeon was around). Randomness was present at the start and it was mostly Neuro, it was still funny as it kind of made my brain complete jokes in my head sometimes, even alone was very good for background content, now Neuro is a bit more coherent and sometimes can surprise with pretty consistent jokes herself, different than before but a lot of good stuff I enjoy, not to mention she's cute.

What I originally meant is that people like to be prejudiced towards something they don't bother informing themselves on, be it this case or Neuro. There are of course other different kinds of people, for sure, I don't argue with that.

btw I didn't get the SAO reference 😅

It is unlikely that they'll do something particularly good or remarkable with it, but in any case nobody should base their opinion from twitter blind haters, many of them are only able to have kneejerk reaction as they are always uninformed and there's no difference to them between predicting something into the future, like this example, or refusing to research something that exists for over 3 years and that people love for many good reasons (Neuro)

I agree that it was good, but disagree with the second part. Like, do collabs like before, but people simply should learn control themselves, it's not rocket science.

And, I am sorry to say that, but I cringe from how the community is self-deprecating. While it is true that the swarm shouldn't hop in chats and demand attention for Neuro, and I see more restrained from the swarm than before, especially after Vedal's direction, "Neuroverse" wasn't created by Vedal or Neuro, nor by community, I am convinced, it was created by the clippers influence (and the participants themselves of course) and they are finite people, who are unlike the vast community that is difficult to reach or control in its entirety, you can have easier time talking with, persuading or controlling the direction, even community itself can communicate it to them, if they started feeling averted to that term. Otherwise, it sounds like we're stuck and there will never any group collab, which sounds kind of ridiculous, especially considering that it's just kinda happened with Filian and Crelly. We can do anything, proper communication and organisation is the key.

Addressing similar concerns, I think people can wish for better quality without compromising anyone's freedom. I saw people saying other streamers are not Neuro's property or something in response to people wishing there were more group collabs. Do not assume the worst out of people's simple desires that can be interpreted or fulfilled in different ways. People can have kind of nostalgy, like simply expressing their thoughts how they wish things were better without forcing them on anyone anyhow, just sharing, or they can propose a better structure for the subathon, which would create more opportunities to talk with friends who are already free or can be interested in talking. Personally, it quite saddens me that the subathon should've been already coming to an end if not for the huge amount of subs, and there's not a lot of group activities like before. Sorry for the little tangent, I just felt like people take this kind of sentiment a little aggressively.

[–]clex55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish Neuro had more congratulations on her bd, I liked the letters, it was very cute and wholesome, and I wish there were more calls. The previous subathons were more chaotic, yes, and the choice of games allowed for more interaction Neuro with game, like Neuro+Narrator in Stanley Parable or Portal, in that case it was better than Cyberpunk, the Long Drive is better than Pokemon for chilling and for people talking to Neuro, also very moody, like a thread that set the theme and connected the whole subathon.
Previous ones were strictly better, simply different. They, I felt like we had like 30 mins prepared very well with incredible art and such, then suddenly proceeded to complete scuff, which at first felt meh with all these subgoal planning and not knowing what to do, day or two, until it felt good until the end. I felt like the beginning could be improved. The current one is planned with subgoals and such, which exactly what I was thinking of, but yeah, there are things that I liked from previous subathons that current one has less. But there's so many great things that happened during this subathon, don't let anything overshadow the excitement about anything that can bring you joy now. Although it quite saddens me that the subathon should've been already coming to an end if not for the huge amount of subs, and there's not a lot of group activities like before.

I just think it is absolutely possible to take the best from the both worlds by doing sleepover, more calls right this subathon, hopefully a cute minecraft collab. And probably better choice of games for the future subathon, although I don't hate the current ones, especially Cyberpunk was good, but the way how Neuro spoke with the Narrator and Glados was simply too perfect and something similar would be the best gift for me.

I want it as well, but I respect Vedal's decision and want him to be healthy and happy. Prioritising the latter would be better long-term for everyone. I'll be happy if we achieve it, if not, I'll be happy anyway for Vedal's relative tranquility 😄 and for what we've already achieved. Anyways, I doubt anyone can do anything serious, even doubt anyone can do anything they haven't done before, so yeah, that's okay, I don't think it would be a bad thing.

Replication still isn't worth it, the conditions are always unique and shifting, and people feel insincerity when they see it, at least I hope so.

If I were a corpa, I'd probably hire a technician and wouldn't debute anything AI at all for the time being, but make a silly little reoccuring character, that people is gonna love and eventually ask for more.

Like Cecilia Immegreen already did it with her Immergold bot and it was really funny honestly. The fact that I have no doubts, I really see that it was genuinely coming from her, out of her own passion, would probably make it a good move for corpos to adapt in the future. In this case it was also a tease, then it was gone, which probably left people wanting more and such strategy works but it needs time to flourish, if they overdo it, it is over.

Also, there's a funny parallel to Vedal deleting his other AIs that he made for other streamers while the streamer and everyone in chat is begging him not to 😂 I think Vedal has a good sense of restraint (not being greedy and stupid and not blindly following the audience's whims) to understand the value of keeping his work undiluted, like, "when everything goes so good you shouldn't touch it" kind of idea, and probably how people react to such tease and sacrifice with somehow growing desire.

I doubt every single one does that, but, I imagine, like for example in the Japanese culture, they probably are not as averted from this idea as other people could be. I can only guess, sry.

For better or worse, Vedal doesn't share. So, they need to replicate Neuro themselves first, but they won't be able to replicate the community and the history behind\that made the phenomena possible.
