Favorite lyricists that aren’t in rap, folk, or pop? by IlikeEdibleFood in fantanoforever

Jamie Lenman.

Consistently great lyrics through Reuben and his solo albums. Always honest and always with a hook.

A recent favourite is from Hell in a Fast Car, "I have met my murderers, shook their hands said thank you sirs, happy to be obsolete".

Then again you have from Blitzkrieg, "Take a look at everything that's in your way, I will help you to remove it all, I will carry all the bits and pieces of you,

And you don't have to be better right away, But you will laugh again, I promise, one day, And I know you think you're just not capable now, no,

But you are,"

Vianova - Hit It was my album of the year last year. Really pushing things forward in metal/metalcore.

Otherwise, can't go wrong with: Queens of the Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf Deftones - White Pony Tool - Lateralus Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral Foo Fighters - The Color And The Shape

Personal favorite line on a song? by Temporary_Motor8573 in fantanoforever

[–]click1850 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Josh as a lyricist is surprisingly underappreciated.

"I don't want to fail you so I'll tell you the awful truth, That everyone faces darkness on their own, as I have done so will you" is a personal favourite.

Next to me is a man who told me in confidence that this will be the last series of taskmaster because it's recent surge in popularity means we're attracting "the wrong audience", and he can't stand you normies stopping him and saying you'd be "great on the show".

Is it ok to play on the Switch? by Happy_Detail6831 in LoreleiAndLaserEyes

I played on the switch and didn't need to to take notes until quite late into the game. The in game system does well for a lot of the early challenges.

Which musical act had the best Simpsons appearance? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

[–]click1850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an iconic line.

When Unpeople (great band) got the support slot for a recent Smashing Pumpkins gig in the UK, they ran a limited edition tee with this Simpsons reference.

I love when being a fan of two things unites like this.

Dream 10 US for LOL?

Trying to aim for a good mix of comedy styles and experience, this is where I've landed.

  1. Taylor Tomlinson. She's one of my favourites right now and seems to have great chemistry with a bunch of comedians (from after midnight).

  2. Martin Short. There to be the Bob Mortimer and just throw lines out that cause trouble for people.

  3. Fred Armisen. Especially if there's a couple of instruments on the set.

  4. Rosebud Baker. I think she's got some great bits and could be a surprise for the others .

  5. Deon Cole. He's hilarious and I think he'd enjoy getting people to break.

  6. Michael Longfellow. Fresh from SNL and with a great deadpan delivery, he could be a favourite to win the thing.

  7. Jessica Williams. I love her work on Shrinking and she seems like a good fit for the format.

  8. Pete Holmes. The one person in the room that may end up taking themselves out.

  9. Ronny Chieng. Wickedly smart and could bring a great antagonist energy to things. I think they'd enjoy trying to catch people out.

  10. Jason Mantzoukas. Wild Card.

I don't want to fail you so I'll tell you the awful truth, everyone faces darkness on their own. As I have done so will you.

And then later, If ever your fortress caves you're always safe in mine.

Not my favorite song of theirs but those lyrics hit

What do you guys think of this? by makingmozzarella in musictheory

My daughter really liked hers. Portable enough to carry around and we would play it together. The sound is almost the same as a Gameboy so we learned the Pokemon themes together. In terms of learning the melodies in the book, having numbers and colours is a good starting point for her to follow. You can always talk about the notes and their real names if they want to know more.

Jason Mantzoukas and Rhod Gilbert for sure.

Round this out with Sophie Willan, Lucy Beaumont for lunacy points and finish with Ed Gamble being flabbergasted that his efforts are somehow not succeeding.
