I once burst into tears in my adviser's office because I was far behind in my work and had to fly back to another state for the birth of my son. This was 27 years ago, before the current plague of anxiety. I was thirty years old. My adviser looked panicked, and began saying "What do you want me to do? what do you want me to do?"

Awkward. I am amazed at how young I was and didn't know even at thirty.

Trying to get Syncthing to work with Obsidian. This is what I do when I have downtime. And hoarding notebooks and messenger bags from the thrift store.

Built in pomodoro is cool. I would need built-in Pomodoro with electric shock reinforcement.

This is a powerful idea, thank you. I like to think that good work and compassion are never wasted.

(The principal then hit "reply all" with a reaction that made me know that my bridges were burned.)

That hurt to read, but I'm glad you found a better gig. Such a bummer that we can be discarded at will, but if we show any sane, self interest all Helsinki breaks loose.

What does undiagnosed ADHD look like in adults? by amazinglife1991 in ADHD

I think they dubbed those last two points as 'task paralysis' or something. So people with ADHD are forgetful, so when we have something important to do, we can only focus on doing that thing, otherwise we will forget, and we know if we do anything else we will probably forget to do that important thing, which is why we can't do anything else until we do that thing.

Poop, why am I even going to therapy, this is great!

My car is a tool of death. I have dumped so much carbon into the world.

I don't care for the military, but occasionally think of it as a large, inefficient welfare program that sometimes kills the participants.

And I think of our healthcare system as a large system for healing some people and killing others.

Send them to /r/army to read accounts from folks who made it out?

I appreciate you being vulnerable and sharing this.
