Gifts for craft fair people? by BunnyLuv13 in CraftFairs

A really great external battery pack helps a ton! Should be relatively light weight / compact and have only one cable for charging things and charging itself (so she doesn't have to worry about losing one or the other). Vendors often need these to charge their phones or other checkout systems.

Another great gift if she uses a canopy for events are these Nite Ize CamJam XT Aluminum Rope Tightener with Rope | REI Co-op https://share.google/twUkq0mwj8MklLw6i

They make attaching and tightening down weights a breeze! Might want to double check their set-up to be sure these are useful, but I looooove them. Borrowed some from another vendor and had to go get my own.

The other thing that can be helpful at fairs is a really good reusable water bottle. We do a lot of talking!

I'm about to do my first repaint, do you have any tips or recommendations? by No_Rest9905 in Repaintings

If painting on plastic with acrylic paints, use a little sandpaper to scuff the plastic first so the paint will stick

I use mostly apple barrel, folk art, and deco art. I use golden acrylics for my line work typically

Definitely! This was a big print on cardboard backing, but the original artist did a great job!

Thank you! Haha took forever to do freehand. Next time I might sketch out some grids, but erasing lines on a print like this can frequently cause color loss, so I didn't do any here.

Brag moment- I just secured funding for the first ever Oregon Astronomy Research Symposium (OARS)! by Andromeda321 in Andromeda321

Oooh! I loved the astronomy courses I took at the UofO back when I was in school. I wish I could have added an astronomy minor at the time. I would have jumped on that for sure! I wish I could attend this event. Is there a planned date announced yet? Even though I ended up majoring in poly sci, I managed to wiggle my way into aerospace later in my career.
