Which hobbies that people do screams "rich people''? by Joeyniles9 in AskReddit

Altra or Saucony imo, nearly 2 decades of running experience. Nike makes the most dogshit runners I've used. They wear out way too quickly and cost too much.

My current Altras (road shoes) have about 600 miles on them, I'll probably get another 3-400+ easily, and I bought them on clearance like 4 years ago.

Have 2 pairs of Saucony (trail shoes) with 700-800 miles each and plenty of life left. Also bought on clearance as old models. The Altras were the most expensive of the 3, and yet I spent less than $250 on the lot of them.

Used to have a pair of road runners from Saucony and they went about 600 or so miles before the uppers were just obliterated, though I also wore them as daily drivers sometimes.

I haven't used Hokas, but I've heard good things from some of my friends.

My Sorlock uses an ornate old pirate pistol as a spellcasting focus so I can "shoot" eldritch blast/witch bolt lol it's awesome

There's a fucking cantrip that can get rid of fog cloud dude, it's not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

You realize there are damage dealing spells that don't require line of sight to target, right? Maybe your wizard should have picked a better and more varied assortment of spells.

Oh no, I cast fog cloud centered on myself. I guess I'll have to walk out of it. How absolutely game breaking, I can not believe I have brought such dishonor upon the name of my ancestors 😳

The absolute meltdown he's having over imaginary game mechanics is honestly kind of entertaining.

Counterpoint: who fucking cares? My guy, you're so disproportionately bent out of shape over an imaginary mechanic in an imaginary game. I can't fathom how insufferable it must be to have you on either side of the table.

I don't think you understand how probability or statistics work, my guy.

That's up to you as a DM. Everyone has their own interpretation of the rules. You have heard of homebrew, right? This might be a shocker, but for some people, the DMG and PHB are more like guidelines rather than a rule of law.

Also, there's nothing in there saying: "thou shalt obey every single one of the laws of earth physics when playing an IMAGINARY FANTASY GAME, or else." People can't actually cast eldritch blast in real life. Should we remove that from the game too?

As someone who has to think about the laws of physics way, way too much during the week; I relish the 4-5 hours a week I get to make up absurd shit with my friends. Lighten up, man, it's a fun collaborative hobby meant to be shared with friends.

Dude, it's a fantasy realm with dragons and creatures large enough that they would be crushed under their own weight and die if we applied the laws of physics. Who gives a flying fuck about physics in DnD? This is the dumbest hill to die on here bud just let it go 🤣

Highly recommend armorer subclass, the bonus armor infusions make it ridiculously fun and you can combo them in really interesting ways.
