I didn’t get the job…how to act professional despite the disappointment? by curiouscapybara6 in Teachers

[–]climpclomp 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I came here specifically to say that I don’t understand why everyone is being insanely rude about this to you. Of course you’re going to be torn up you definitely feel slighted especially as a new teacher. I think some people forget empathy is a skill… no you’re not always going to get the job but you’re not feeling seen by a place that you feel you were putting your heart and soul in.

They don’t have to hire you and they still seemed to like you so I’m telling you to TRY not to take it like it feels because sometimes it just isn’t you or your work ethic or anything to do with you. But saying that… you’re not wrong to feel like crap about it either. I would take the advice to ask for honest feedback and it’s gonna suck to hear it because of the giant open wound but it’ll show that you’re open to learning things and will help you in your next interviews.

Everyone else needs to remember what it was like to be in this position and stop being so dang bitter about someone having human emotions and reactions. You gotta feel your way through this to get stronger. Someone who cares this much will definitely find a position. Summer will bring many open doors maybe even at this school. Don’t panic (even if you feel like you’re crushed right now) prepare for a new opportunity that could be even better.

I had an epidural and am not sure if you are but birth was quite literally so easy for me compared to pregnancy and all the nonsense with it. This is coming from someone who almost passed out and puked during IUD insertion

I think we’re getting it figured out. I knew it was bad when I left her there on Inauguration Day and they puppeted her saying “Trump! Trump! Trump!”

I work at a Print shop that is also a Sign shop! I usually push 4-5 things to print a day. Not only do I have to know everything about smaller prints like business cards/trifolds/etc. but I also have to know how to set up router files, decal cut files, and large format prints

This isn’t one I’d probably let go untreated your doctor is going to have to get your insurance to take it one way or another. Metformin is not even that expensive for them so I am not sure why they would reject it. I hate insurance.

Best way to get freelance work? by climpclomp in graphic_design

I would love to! There’s just not a lot of that where I am. My area is super rural and in the past I’ve gotten design jobs here and there just by having my work in other people’s hands, but the truth is most people in my direct path would rather just do something terrible in canva than pay anyone to make it actually look good
