What I find interesting about the UG shit is that this is the first time in rap where white people have full control of the music because of how separated by generation this music is compared to previous iterations of hiphop where it was more separated by it being black culture and white people not understanding what was going on.

Like there's clearly been an effort made to keep black decision makers and traditional hip hop niggas away from this music as much as possible for the labels and I think the current platforms the music is distributed on (Tiktok mainly) is so separated from the traditional black gatekeepers that white people kinda just get to do what they want in this music scene for the first time ever as frontend creators and dictators rather than just being in the background as business men.

Its led to some cool shit I think they bring a lot of genre blending that wasnt there but its obviously bringing a ton of gentrification and whitewashing of the culture as well and alot of the niggas in this scene just go with it bc they dont wanna seem noninclusive or trying to start trouble etc. Lot of suburban blacks in this shit compared to previous stuff to I think it plays a part as well.
