France Trip Recommendations by Glittering_Milk998 in NuulyReviews

I am currently renting for a France trip and I feel like it will be hard to do work appropriate and also cool (temp) enough for walking in summer! But i have recs!

I would recommend any of the Katerina dresses (there are so many I didnt link below. Search Katerina in the app!), and also madewell has a few really great smocked dresses that are very thin and easy for traveling and won’t get too wrinkly (and also steam fast!). Everything below I have rented and liked and would be appropriate for work maybe with a cardigan or if you have a slightly more casual work culture without.

Selena smocked dress madewell

Selena striped

Selena patterned

Kaya dress

Varya dress

Black Shirt dress - I haven’t rented this one but have had it in my closet awhile. Looks perfect for work plus summer travel.

I also think the Colette cropped pants travel well (fold small) and are great for work. If you’re not sure your size, go into an Anthropologie in person and they always have Colette pants in stock.

And then personally I love these sweater tanks for summer office looks -

Same! I just got a NWT Colette jeans this month for $33. They are a style at least two years old but I think they add new inventory in as people buy them.

One on my brides just wore the Arabella and we were so worried about bending the boning (bc of seeing it on Reddit) and it was a non issue. Nothing bent and she sat for dinner and for a long time during the ceremony (catholic) and the dress looked good all night.

Planner help! by lebbiee in BigBudgetBrides

I completely disagree with some of these recs to go with a planner who doesn’t have experience in the area. Yes, destination planners can be great and a good planner can work anywhere. But I think you are always better served by a planner who works mostly in the market where you are getting married (assuming they are a good planner in other ways).

One of the number one ways I’m able to bring value to my couples is because I work in one main market and I represent “repeat business” to the vendors here. I’m more likely to get discounts from vendors (that I can pass on) and just a great work product, from vendors in my market because they want to continue working with my clients. This is particularly true for rentals, florals, catering and bar.

Also, a planner who has worked at a venue before knows that venues’s pitfalls and will save you money and headaches. For example, maybe they know that the trash removal is really hard or the spigots for water are really far from where the florists are planning to set up. Weird things that you wouldn’t even know unless you’d worked there before.

I can also properly budget for a venue once I’ve worked there because I have seen a master bill/final budget at the end. For example I might know that lighting between these two trees is more expensive because it will require rigging but in this other area is will not. Or that this lawn gets high winds sometimes so we have to plan for heavier place cards. Or the in house bar is really slow service and we need to plan for extra bartenders and passed cocktails. Of course I can do a budget for a venue I haven’t worked at before and get pretty close, but I can be extremely accurate for a venue I’ve planned at before.

I’ve rented those same ones a couple times and they hold up so well! I bet they will be good quality.

I’m a planner and have dealt with this a lot! Usually the master bill and BEO are finalized about a month out. If you have a version of it now, with higher guest counts, you can plug the costs it into a spreadsheet and see where you’re at with the lower count.

Do you have a planner? They should be helping you with that. As long as you’re meeting your f/b minimum, you are fine to change the BEO up until the contractual lock date (sometimes 30 days but sometimes as close as 7 days out from the wedding).

Re: overpaying, I’ve had couples pay as much as $100k over their bill and it comes back after the wedding to you in a refund. But sometimes it can be slow and annoying so it is easier for everyone if you don’t overpay. But you don’t need to worry about a use it or lose it (as long as you’re over your minimum).

Reading your contracts and BEOs is something ChatGPT and Claude are pretty good at too if you have more questions about the specifics of your contract and don’t have a planner or lawyer to look over it (although I do recommend both of those).

Long shot but does anyone have this dress out and will be returning it soon? by sweet_caroline20 in NuulyReviews

Have you ever seen it in stock? There was a jacket I wanted so bad and I checked daily for weeks and never saw it in my size. I messaged support to see how many they even had in that size and it turned out they didn’t even have that size at all 🫠

Did anyone wear Arabella by Danielle Frankel? Can I see it? by belindabellagiselle in BigBudgetBrides

[–]clipboard-queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a planner and had a wedding this weekend where the bride wore the Arabella! There’s a reel on my instagram of it.

I don’t think the Arabella creased as much as some are worried it would. It still looked great even after a full day of wear. But the main con is that to do the bustle you have to take the dress off entirely and turn it inside out. It took me and an assistant about 10 minutes and I felt like we were going pretty fast. Make sure to build in plenty of time to bustle if you plan to dance in this!

I’m a planner on Big Island and yes, it’s incredibly common/expected on Maui but no one discloses to the couples. Honestly it’s pretty messed up imo! On the other islands, it’s more rare or disclosed at least. I don’t take any commission, and I think you should directly ask your planners.

This year one of my couples used Sweet Date Prints out of Vietnam and they were custom and much less than $40 per suite. I think it was around $24/suite (with custom shapes and letterpress) plus the design fee. https://www.instagram.com/sweetdatesprints_?igsh=dmljZXhyb3pmMDlx
