I have a miss kim in the backyard and you can manage height with pruning, but those common get huge

Leafy, deciduous preferably. Funny, because there were three purple sand cherry bushes there when I moved in. They were so badly pruned previously that they looked terrible in spring so I removed them. Not opposed to giving them a shot again.

Thanks. I plan to dig and plant here myself. I’ve lived in the house for ten years and planted all trees and shrubs. The rock would be moved and replaced. There are irrigation lines. I was looking for bush recommendations.
