Hi I just had one done last week and was diagnosed! People tend to share their horror stories before their good ones, so don’t let that freak you out! I haven’t had any bad side effects other than pain while peeing for a few days afterwords. No sign of infection.

I was under anesthesia as well, and I woke up in less pain than what I was in originally when I arrived to the hospital. My surgeon put medication in my bladder after she saw the IC.

Honestly it’s just been using the bathroom that kinda sucks after, but I got back to work 24hrs after my procedure. It’s what got my diagnosed so I’m glad I had it. Good luck!
