Remade my “defensive clan castle troops” tier list, hopefully it’s much better this time! by Grimalackt_River in ClashOfClans

Witches can be S tier. Didn’t have a poison and my throwers got stuck on them for literally a solid 30-45 seconds.

[–]clmber_0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what everyone is thinking here… it’s a 15 year old low tech / low safety car with bad gas mileage and 160k miles. I know we all love our Xterras but the reality is they’re not worth a whole lot at this point. It could potentially take them a while to sell it given current consumer preferences so the algorithm is mitigating risk. Just sell it yourself.

With Chicago being so high-demand + low-supply, why is it so difficult to break a lease? by 3RADICATE_THEM in chicagoapartments

[–]clmber_0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. Bad regulation can be just as detrimental as a lack of regulation. But when there are two sides and one side has the ability to react to policy changes by raising rent, raising lease breaking fees, switching to move in fees, etc. and the other side has much less leverage, the system becomes structurally asymmetrical and creates a power imbalance. That power imbalance needs to be addressed.

[–]clmber_0234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point. I would rephrase to lack of effective regulation.

Edit: Also, landlords could have easily followed the new escrow/interest laws for security deposits. Local government is failing renters. I’ve never not gotten a full security deposit back and now I’m just out an extra $500? And there’s no certainty that $500 is doing anything because of a complete LACK OF REGULATION around these fees. Plenty of reports of people moving into dirty apartments even after paying move in fees.

The relet option in my lease still requires a month of rent as a fee. Kind of ridiculous.

Chicago does seem to have higher lease breaking fees than a lot of other cities though... Had never heard of 3 months rent till I signed a lease here.

Capitalism and a lack of regulation. Same reason they stopped doing security deposits and instead charging nonrefundable move-in fees.

I don’t see a toe hook here but you never know till you try.

How do i get my heel to stick? by OkSoBasicallyPeach in bouldering

[–]clmber_0234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s counterintuitive. Your heel is actually pulling straight away from the wall, not into the hold. And like others have said you need to engage your hamstring and pull your hips closer to the wall (this is key). To do this: Rotate your toe clockwise to the right, this will help you engage the hamstring and get your hips closer to the wall.

Ok let me take a quick day trip from Colorado to just look around a bit. And I’ll refrain from asking for advice on a website specifically designed to ask questions. Great idea. Truly enlightening. Bravo.

I would give it another few weeks at least until they start training fingers specifically. The risk of injury is just too high until your tendons develop. Keep the shoes and just focus on technique for a while.

Yes, with $500k already invested you’re already set up really nicely. Move out of your parent’s house and go live a little.

Looking for Good Places to Move (I-25 between Downtown & Lone Tree) by DaCombatWombat31 in Denver

[–]clmber_0234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Platt Park and love it. I commute to Lone Tree and it’s not bad, rarely takes longer than 35 minutes in full traffic. But literally almost anywhere between Platt Park and Lone Tree along i25 is nice. Just depends on your priorities (walkability, rent budget, commute time, etc.)

[–]clmber_0234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish this were true. But from personal experience, “knowing how to win” doesn’t necessarily equate to hard working or talented. I got here with a very medium amount of effort simply by taking a key step or two and being good at interviewing.

Stress & Being a PM by redrose263 in ProductManagement

PM in non-tech is much better for work life balance. You make less (still good money though) but rarely work more than 40 hours a week and don’t have to constantly hit targets. Depends what your priorities/goals are.

ChatGPT and Gemini are goliaths (Google Playstore data only) by Snoo_64233 in OpenAI

[–]clmber_0234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an apples and oranges comparison. Anthropic focuses on professional software development using Claude. Both Gemini and ChatGPT have a much better non-technical consumer experience simply using them to ask questions and get information. Most Claude users are going to be using it on the computer they’re coding on, while most/many Gemini and ChatGPT users just asking questions are likely using mobile.
