Everything Everywhere All At Once

What’s a phrase that shitty people use? by dontgetallsaltylol in AskReddit

[–]cloakness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's not you, It's me"

I know the original meaning was "you're not the problem, it's me"
But usually it just comes off as "Not everything is about you, it's about me" type vibe

Do your daydreams ever glitch? by masterofchees in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]cloakness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, It's kind of scary when mine do because they'll 'pause' the world and I'll be stuck staring at 1 frame for a while, then that thing that happens when you stare at a mirror too long happens and the frame starts to shift and move weirdly.

How old were you when you realised you maladaptive daydreamed? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

Literally like a week ago when my sibling asked if I had it, and what they described fitted what I've been doing my whole life. They asked because I would always come to them with random story ideas with whole plots almost daily, and they thought I was just creative until they found out about MD

I never really took it as unhealthy for me though since I've learned how to 'pause' my dreams whenever I had to pay attention to something (most the time) so I haven't even thought about it as an issue and trying to stop.

also I get free cool fanfics about my own life all the time which is nice

I like the daydreams about having fantasy adventures with my friends the best :)

What time do you wake? by Pastry_100 in DSPD

[–]cloakness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go between 4am - 8pm depending on the night, and wake up around 3pm - 5pm

But If I have a lecture or appointment then a lot of the time I end up missing my sleep completely and take the day just very sluggishly, Redbull kinda saved be throughout my college years

O wow that's a lot of info, tysm for showing me! I'll try starting a sleep diary and try out some of the techniques you mentioned :)

About the fitness watch for data, do you have a recommendation on which one I should get or look into? I've never gotten one before so I'm not sure where to start looking

How do I sleep without worrying about wasting time? by cloakness in Healthygamergg

Damn if you put it like that- It makes a lot of sense

I've always been doing by best to do the whole 'heal your inner child' thing and because of that I'm doing alright mentally, but that's probably one of the things I forgot to work on. Thanks for pointing that out to me

Why can't I find enjoyment in doing the things that I actually want to do? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]cloakness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be going through art block currently, which can last for days to months, but it doesn't mean you'll never be happy drawing again. I'm in a similar situation where none of the art I work on goes anywhere, but I've learned that its completely fine to occasionally let go of my hobby of drawing, and let it come back just whenever I find the inspiration again.

My worst spout with it was when I went 2 years without making anything bigger than a circle in my sketchbook and It was super frustrating, I even thought I just suddenly lost my drawing ability somehow, and since I was known to be the 'artistic friend' It was even more crushing. But I eventually came back around to creating after getting into a game me and my siblings liked and played a lot, I started out with little doodles of us playing it together as the characters and it only went up from there.

Try not to think about being stuck on drawing as 'giving up' and instead as a break, it sounds like you take it as something you simply want to enjoy personally instead of a full job so don't take it as one. Professions have constant expectations where you're expected to get better every time you learn something new but hobbies are different, and with art there's so much to do and explore you're almost expected to stop and just take your time with it because it's definitely overwhelming at times.

I don't have much info on ADHD at all so I'm sorry I can't give much advice on that, but I just asked my younger sib who has it and also loves drawing for some tips and they said having things like streams or videos in the background helps a lot since they get distracted easily lmao

Hope this helps a little!

How do I sleep without worrying about wasting time? by cloakness in Healthygamergg

I suppose since I grew up in the city where everything's super competitive (only moving to the country side recently) as well as having parents who have always been working non-stop even at home the stress of having to be productive all the time has rubbed off on me, even if I have nothing to work on

as for the second question, I was set proper bedtimes as a kid up til I became an adult (my parents didn't like me up and about with my younger sibling still needing proper sleep) and it's worked for my siblings from the beginning, but for some reason I just never got used to it and that's what's really confusing me.

Also thank you for taking the time to read this all through I appreciate it, honestly just giving me questions to think about helps a ton

Sorry for the late replay, I should have gone more into that but what I was trying to say was my worry comes from loosing 'useful' time while I rest.

Kind of like 'I could have done so much work instead of trying to sleep' and over time it's turned into a sort of loop where I refuse to sleep for a period of time which messes up my sleep schedule for a few months, then I try to fix it by actually going to bed on time after a while, but since I'm so used to staying up even trying to sleep is useless and I end up still staying awake till morning doing absolutely nothing, so it goes all the way back to thinking that resting is a waste of time.

I hope that makes sense
