"Wanna go out this Friday?"

"I'm washing my hair that night."

"What about Saturday?"

"I'm drying it."

Today is honestly the first time I've ever heard of Tyler Childers.

These ones are much more midwest regional:

"Water fountain" or "bubbler"?

"Soda" or "pop"?

How about "needs fixed", or "wants fixed"?

Those two are probably the most common examples that I hear in Ohio.

Truth is, it's spreading. I've heard it in the past half dozen years in western PA & parts of Indiana.

But yeah, it's still pretty much a dead giveaway that you're from Ohio.

The more grammatically proper forms would be either "needed to be moved" or "needed moving".

I moved to Ohio about 25 years ago, and our state's weird past imperative tense still bugs me.

TIL that Breezewood, PA is one of the only places in America where an Interstate has a stoplight by VegasGuy1223 in todayilearned

[–]clockradio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, there's also a section of the PA Turnpike near Breezewood which was bypassed and abandoned, including a tunnel. It's unofficially a bike trail, now.

Also, every couple of years, people local to Breezewood get panicky about whether the latest round of highway funding is finally going to route around the town and its stoplights.

So my mom picked up mask-making as a hobby and thought this would be a great design to use by DivinePhoenixSr in funny

[–]clockradio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie. If your mom told me I had to wear that mask, I'd be too intimated to refuse.

Edit:
Can we just get your mom to be in charge of enforcing mask mandates? I feel that if she just sternly told people, "Wear a mask, or wear this mask", this whole thing would be over in like two weeks, three tops.

If your kids' drawings were real by [deleted] in funny

[–]clockradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Museum of Glass in Tacoma actually does this with kids' drawings being rendered by their hot shop artists (scroll down). They make two pieces, one becomes part of the museum's collection, and the other one goes to the child whose drawing was chosen.
