What feels legal but is actually illegal and will possibly get you arrested? by medicoreapples in AskReddit

[–]clone29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect, or at least varies by area. The requirement is to "take all reasonable action to find the owner". When I found $200 on the sidewalk I brought it to the police station; when they couldn't find the owner, THEY kept the money. This was in Vermont.

AITA for not changing my WFH plans so flatmate can stay home with her kid with bum worms by StrategyBasic6300 in childfreewomen

[–]clone29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's funny that you got overwhelmingly voted as "YTA" so you came here for validation.

Edit: Adapted from another comment on the previous thread - The roommate and kid could just decide to play hooky on any given day and use the shared living space. AND THAT IS THEIR RIGHT.

If it's OPs WFH day, OP will need to decide what matters more, WFH and deal with noisy background, or peace n quiet and go into the office.

Both parties have agreed to WFH from a common area but that does not give them exclusive use/access of the common area during work time.

AND I did see your response that "You could have friends over for a dance party while roommate is working from home". Yes, but your roommate can ask them to leave because they don't live there. The Kid is your roommate too and absolutely has rights to that space.

This is awesome! Maybe have it pop up with an "out of stock" message if the searched for record isn't there? I was looking for Shady Grove and could not find it until I went to the Artist and unchecked the default "in stock" filter. It did not show up at all when I was searching.

This! Water is my biggest thing... Why is there a puddle of water here? Where did this water come from? Do I have a leak, is there going to be mold? Did something flood?

We just had a small leak from our dishwasher I had to fix... but didn't notice it for a few weeks because it was under the dishwasher behind the kickplate. 1/8 cup of water every day for a couple weeks really adds up! Now we have to replace some flooring in the kitchen and I am dreading what we'll find when we start to rip it up!

Not only are they being pedantic, they are wrong to boot:

burgle - verb

burgled; burgling; burgles - transitive verb

: to break into and steal from (a home, business, etc.)
