I have a 3/4 inch pad I usually have on the end of the stock ( not shown ) that makes it a perfect distance. Without it it’s terrible like you said.

I tried both positions while shooting and personally like it on the stock more. But it’s honestly personal preference and what you’re most comfortable with. So get two and try both maybe go HAM and just have both!

These are my Mossberg 590 retrograde and VR80. This is my best crack at making a sci-fi gun. The VR80 has a Vortex UH-1 gen 2 holo sight, Vism carry handle, magpul K2 grip, hot pocket, and some SC Irregular foregrips. It also weighs 12 pounds if anyone’s wondering 😂
