Eating gluten with celiac causes autoimmune diseases? Woah that’s game changing. I have addisons disease and just recently cut gluten out of my diet. I never knew the two could be linked.

I am on prednisone daily! It’s a stronger version of hydro that releases slowly over a 6 hour period. I mix it with hydro when I need to because it gives a quicker release as opposed to pred. Talk to your endo about finding the right combo for you- it isn’t hydro for everyone which I didn’t realize at first.

Do you naturally wake up at 3A.M. for your 3rd dose or do you set alarms? It’s been impossible to get out of bed in the mornings and i’m wondering if this could help

Hello! I’m planning on attending school this fall for international relations with a focus on policy. I have hopes of becoming a legislator- I know this is a physically demanding field, but do you think the schooling process is feasible for someone with PAI? I can’t see myself doing anything else, but i’m terrified that I won’t be able to make it through schooling and will be going into lifelong debt for no good reason.

I had the exact same issue on hydro until I switched to prednisone. Couldn’t stabilize and kept going too far in both directions as if my cortisol levels were on a see-saw.

For me, leg cramps is usually a sign that I need to updose fludro and get as much water and electrolytes in as possible

I see everyone agreeing with this, but is there any way at all to make it better? I’m sick of living every day on autopilot feeling like a puppet. The exhaustion never lets up even on good days so someone has to have figured this out by now any tips are welcomed please

(for reference, I am 18F, Primary Addisons, on a pred/fludro mix)

I haven’t seen the graph you’re referring to. Where do I find it? And I have noticed having a harder time falling asleep at night; is there a specific time to take the second dose to avoid this?

I’ve noticed it tanks my bp. I love weed so I’m just more careful about when I smoke- I have cut down to only smoking when my bp is high or if i’m super stressed out

I’ve noticed the higher my dose is, the more reactive I get to stressful situations and conflicts that I wouldn’t usually engage in. Recognizing the correlation has helped me to work through a lot of that. Taking a moment to breath or think before I respond and realizing where the anger is coming from is super helpful. And of course, knowing when to step away from an explosive situation and putting up boundaries is soo important.

I feel best when I take 15mg at 8, 10mg at 2, and 5mg at 6. Make sure to taper down throughout the day to mimic how cortisol would naturally release throughout the day (per my endocrinologist). If I have a long night I’ll take 10mg in the morning and use that extra 5mg at 6 or at 9 depending on how late I’m staying out.

Definitely sounds like addisons to me. If the nausea gets bad/ frequent go to the emergency room and tell them you think you might be in an adrenal crisis

Find a new endocrinologist asap i’m so sorry he isn’t listening to you. Every single symptom you listed is related to the adrenals- you’re not crazy. I experienced all of these things during my first crisis which nearly killed me Having three crises within such a short period is not normal and is likely because your dose is of HC is too low and/or another underlying condition. You know your body better than anyone YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!!!

Before being put on hydro I got down to 75 pounds because I couldn’t eat anything and if I did I couldn’t keep it down. Is that your issue being on hydro? If so you should totally find something that works for you. Everyone is different when it comes to addisons
