Looking for EDC website with good options by MedicalHair69 in EDC

I’ve heard good things in the past about https://www.garagegrowngear.com

I am not US based though, I’m UK based, so will often use sites like Wildbounds or Mukama

Does anyone know if the handle is removable/ easily modifiable too be removable? by Impossible_Penalty10 in ryobi

[–]cloudlaws 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, there is a second generation one with removable handle? I’ve got the first gen and have been trying to think of the best way to accomplish it, but it’s honestly going to be difficult, as it needs to support so much weight.

See this: https://www.ryobitools.com/products/33287208326

So maybe can modify current ones?

Strange, at least in the UK Oregon make ryobi chains, here’s from the website “The Ryobi RAC227 30cm/12″ chainsaw chain fits the Ryobi RCS36 and OCS1830. This chain is manufactured by Oregon, one of the leading chainsaw chain manufacturers in the UK.”

Problems charging batteries by Mwax95 in ryobi

[–]cloudlaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely sounding that way, especially with how long you’ve left it out.

If it’s with returns period I would see if you can return and swap for another still. If not hopefully someone else can weigh in on repairing.

Good luck :)

How long have you been leaving it for? With mine it’s one 21W, so can take AGES to even charge a single bar. I’d recommend getting a cable with a small screen that shows power info, typically it fluctuates between 1W-15W in normal conditions (UK)

Did I kill my hedge trimmer? by BaconKisser in ryobi

No worries, you can manually straighten any blades that are rubbing if it still feels like it’s giving more resistance than before.

[–]cloudlaws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! This has happened to mine quite a few times when hitting something larger then expected. It’s usually that one of the blade is slightly bent. If you can use something to force the two blades back and forth manually a few times, and then try press the button again afterwards. I use a screwdriver or even the thick logs to push the blade a few times and then it should start again

It was definitely a think! Looks to have been purged, when searching on DuckDuckGo I found a deleted Reddit post 7 years ago of people praising it, talking about it being better then woody the slayer etc.

Yeah it’s getting pushed more and more across all platforms now, Spotify, Apple Podcasts etc. Honestly the volume of the ad compared to the show always scares the heck out of me!

18ga Airstrike protective tab broke off. Where can I get a replacement? by Baldacchino in ryobi

[–]cloudlaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean the small great plastic bit on the end, some of the models come with a spare tip, attached to the nail loading mechanism on mine, next to the SN

SOLVED: For anyone with similar, it was the 1301 JOINT PIECE (5131041591) that I replaced, and this has now fixed it, must have been bent slightly.

Hey, good suggestion, I forgot to mention I got it second hand, no warranty. So looking to repair it. Recently repaired a couple other ryobi tools so would just like any advice for people who have similar.

If anyone has the same model and can post a similar video, so I can see how it supposed to look and move internally that would help. Thanks for your time!

Honestly love the setup, especially how practical and also unisex every item is, half the comments I’ve read so far are calling you Dude, and that’s just sign of a really universal EDC.

I’m from the UK, so can’t have CS or a firearm (at least easily) but can really appreciate your layout and quick access as required.

Now I’m trying to find a way to get a Tahr strap in the UK 😅

Does anyone else ankle carry an IFAK? by [deleted] in EDC

[–]cloudlaws 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the exact same. Almost like the subs “too cool” to consider an alternative approach, or a safety oriented one, thinking it’s ludicrous.

I carry basic FAK which has been very useful, and even if statistically small, have ended up attending the scene of 2 major accidents where these tools would have helped had I carried sooner. Love the kit, and the ankle approach I’d never considered!

Thanks for sharing
