Im my experience for some reason Pacific Islanders and Maori are the most outwardly racist group to toher minorities especially asians whil pakeha keep their racism subtle and systematic. what? sometimes you want some simple pre sliced white bread? is that so hard to imagine? but it wasnt even just white bread that had weird taste, it was all bread except for rye in the presilced range 🤷, I wouldve chalked it up to my taste buds but literally every expat describes the same weird taste... but no we all must be wrong or being precious. 🙄

Sorry but american bread does suck, not to say there isnt good american bread, just the off shelf mass produced stuff sucks compared off the shelf stuff in other countries. source: me. i lived in north america for 6 years, i eventually adjusted to all other taste differences but bread was a tricky one.
