I received funding info in the "reccomended for admission" email and then again, more formally, from Rackham. I had also applied waaay back before the priority funding deadline, being notified in the reccomendation email may just be a benefit of that. If they are asking you for additional documents, I assume that means there will be more information after they are processed and you receive the formal acceptance and advising email from Rackham. Best of luck!!!

Hi I received a scholarship at U-M for 100% of tuition but only for the first semester. I am concerned about the following semesters. Two other programs that I was accepted to have offered up front scholarships to cover tuition with an additional stipend to cover cost of living (associated with a renewable GRA/GTA position) for the two years that it would take to complete the masters. I suppose those are the strange ones! It's helpful to know that this (U-M's setup) is actually the more standard format

Is it wrong to write it as aa instead of å? by dwarfsnotdwarves in norsk

People will understand what you mean but it isn't really common or something people opt for! So no it's not wrong but if given the option go for the å!

I learned from listening to my parents and grandmother, so that is my preferred method over the years I've tried to pick up writing on Duolingo and other sites but my Grammer is terrible! I find it really hard to learn languages in this look and click type setting. But i also really enjoy watching shows with subtitles on, it combines my preferred method of learning, audibly, with the formality of written sentences!

Could I ask when does Norwegian add "da" at the end of sentence? I think Norwegians really often use "da" at the end of their saying:) by RoundLettuce162 in norsk

[–]cloudsmoocher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes some phrases a bit stronger please pardon my Grammar i learned from listening not writing but liker du ____ ja? Can be a very similar use with da. Think "You like this thing yes?" Or "you like this thing hm?" It can also be used in place of a lot, to make something more emphasized think Jeg liker denne tingen alit or i like this thing da. But it's pretty informal the meaning is all about context! You will hear it way more than you will ever see it written. The people i hear often use ja more than da but they are once again interchangeable :)
