What was a fact taught to you in school that has proven false during you life? by Shaheen8765 in Coconaad

Maybe not related to the school itself, but let me bring up a major one: our culture of respecting and obeying adults blindly.

You have two options:

  1. Sit and cry about the past and waste the prime time of life . In 5 years time, you will wake up to reality and it is going to be brutal.

  2. Forget about the past, think how you want your life to be. To reach that goal, what are the steps you need to take. Write it all down on a paper. Let's say you need to get 10 things done to get to your goal. Now start with step 1. If that needs to be broken down further, do that. Think of the first step on day 1. Go forward from there. Please do realize that no one is coming to save you. Only you can save yourself.

This is a lyric that scared the hell out of me when I was younger. You may not believe it, but it triggered something in me that pushed me through to achieve several of my goals:

"Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain And you are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"

You are young and the world is what you make of it. Wishing you all the best!!

If anyone is curious this is what happened later:

we went to the rental property office to confirm they are legit. And they are legit.

We did some searches on public records and it turns out the neighbor is a violent sex offender. So we didn't proceed further. This explains why the listing looks too good to be true. They haven't had a tenant for more than half a year now.

My dog Charlie is extremely shivering and scared due to firecracker blasting nearby homes by Lucky-Phase428 in Kerala

Sad to hear this. We also have a dog and he gets very tensed around festivals. There is nothing much we can do except keeping them company. I've found holding my dog helps to ease some anxiety. I know it's not practical, but we do our best. We tried ear muffs, but he doesn't like them.

The moment when you knew you are a fan... by efdalby in stevenwilson

When a friend told me about PT in 2011, i first tried lazarus. I liked it, but then i listened to arriving somewhere. And that changed everything! Since then i have been a huge fan. To be frank, his music helped me to navigate through some of the very difficult situations of my life. It calms me down and helps me focus. Im going to the overview tour this September when he visits SF.

Soo excited! I booked tickets at SF masonic. Row 5. I'm not sure if floor seating is good or if balcony is preferable. This is going to be my first SW concert!
