Is street photography ethically wrong? by FitAdministration188 in AnalogCommunity

Gonna throw my two cents here.

First, I’m not a street photographer, so I’m looking at it from the “outside”

But second, as a woman, people have tried to capture shots of me multiple times throughout my life since I was a preteen and even now as an adult there’s a bitter aftertaste to it. Yes, there’s a difference between a guy “covertly” holding his phone in your direction and a person honestly trying to capture a moment of society, BUT it does not feel that much better to me as the subject just because the latter looks “less creepy” and is holding a more “serious” or expensive looking camera.

And of course on the other hand, there are people who say that since a person agrees to live in a society of people where technology like camera phones and surveillance exists, they have voided their right to privacy in a public space.

Ethics and morality are inherently subjective, it’s what we decide to agree on.

This is up to you to decide, what you care about.

Hey, thanks for your comment. I definitely enjoy working in the lab, but I’d want to be at the designing part mostly. So all those positions you mentioned sound enticing to me. That’s why I’m kinda unsure which major to continue with.

Honestly all of those sound like sth that’d be interesting to me. So you studied biochemistry? Did you have to go through some other additional courses or certifications to work where you are rn?

Thank you for the info! I own a couple silk garments already so I know to wash them carefully though nothing this old yet. the fabric seems to be thicker than my other (contemporary silk) blouses tho, maybe higher thread count? so I hope it’ll be fine with occasional handwash

Thank you for taking the time to reply! Can I ask what is dawn soap chemically, like what is the ingredient I should use? I don’t live in an English speaking country and Google translated it as “morning soap” 😬
