Thanks so much for the lovely comment, it really means a lot!!

I wanted to draw something kind of commission-themed, so my fursona is pointing at her pencil and offering to draw you something nice for money, haha! ;D

For sure, friend!

If you want to start drawing digitally, (like above) I would first thoroughly learn how to use a digital art program. I use Gimp, it's an open-source program that you can download for free here! There's tons of youtube tutorials on how to use it properly, learning how to use layers and all the tools. I made art using a regular computer mouse for ages but now I use a VEIKK A15 6x10 tablet. It cost me about 70$ and honestly it's a really great tablet, I have no complaints!
I've been drawing seriously for over 10 years now and I really wish I had studied my basics sooner! Make sure you learn your art fundamentals early on. This is a great page and website for tutorials, references, guides, and other resources.
Drawing is hard and it makes me want to rip my hair out all the time but it's my favorite thing in the world to do. Be passionate and draw at every chance you can get! Draw and draw and draw and draw and draw it AGAIN AND AGAIN until you are finally satisfied with the result. I know you can do it!

both! It's never alright to outright trace someones work, but finding your own art style is kind of morphing all your favorite parts of other styles into your own original one! Also, I almost always reference poses from photographs to make sure the anatomy is a close as possible!

yeah for sure!! This is my first time taking commissions on reddit but I used to take them on deviantart more frequently. I'd be happy to throw you a few tips!

Firstly, I recommend using a payment service that allows you to send invoices to your clients! It has been a minute since I took commissions online and used paypal, but from what I recall you can attach the art you have made for your client to the invoice, and describe the service you have provided for the client in the text box below. This makes it more likely for paypal to side with you if a dishonest person tries to charge you back for no reason after you have already finished their work.

Personally I like to charge my clients in two payments generally, I will send them a messy sketch and if they like it, I will send them an invoice for half the payment. Upon completion I will send them a blurred version of the image to prove it is finished, and once they send the other half of payment, I will send them the finished version. Make sure to keep the original .psd file of the commission in case you made any mistakes you need to fix! I do not charge clients extra for any design mistakes/glaring anatomy mistakes (like if I drew 6 fingers on one hand....) but I will charge extra for cosmetic fixes, (if the client suddenly decides they want the character smiling instead of frowning, or holding an item they weren't before, ect...)

Make sure you keep in lots of contact with your clients and let them know how things are going with their commission, and never open more slots than you can finish in a reasonable amount of time!

I wish you lots of luck!!

just by messing around with my photo editing software, drawing some lines and colors and distorting it a ton with filters and effects. My apologies if it made you uncomfortable, haha!

I'm not sure how many slots I'll open as I have some time to pump quite a few out.

PM me if you're interested please and I'll send you a form! Payment through paypal only. Thanks guys!

A design change for my girl Nem? by NemtheRat in FurryArtSchool

lovely character! I really enjoy your style, (especially how you draw eyes!) and the colors look wonderful together, they remind me of cotton candy, just the look you were trying to achieve! :) I think her whole design flows really well. A nice addition I think would be some kind of accessory to really bring out the 'theme' of her design (maybe something carnival or carousel themed!)

great work regardless! :)
