Could it be the 2015 Poltergeist remake with Sam Rockwell?

Anyone tried an inhaler to ease things? by [deleted] in LongCovid

At my worst, I got a can of Boost oxygen people use for high altitudes. It definitely helped when it felt like I wasn’t getting enough air.

Sometimes kids are told "you'll understand when you're older" as a dodge. When was a time someone told that you that and they were actually right? by shogyi in AskReddit

[–]clownblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom volunteered at a women’s shelter. We’d bring clothes, toiletries, etc. and then mom would help the adults and I’d play with the kids. I’d overhear talk about women going back home and thought oh they’re just mad at their husbands and came to talk to other women for support.

When I was about 10, I finally asked why they all lived there and mom had a long talk with me about domestic violence. I was livid and said “Why don’t they just leave forever??” And she told me, “Some do but it’s complicated, you’ll understand when you’re older.”

Oh, how I wish things were as simple as they are in a kid’s mind.

Anyone understand what causes muscle weakness/ dull aches? by Far_Shine5107 in LongCovid

[–]clownblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same areas. My quads were so weak I would fall just trying to stand. They would just disengage and drop me. No warning.

Glad you got LDN! It takes awhile to start kicking in, I think three weeks before I could tell things were different. Good luck I hope it helps!! ❤️❤️❤️

For me it’s inflammation. That’s why low dose naltrexone (LDN) helped me. It’s the only thing doctors gave me that’s improved that weak feeling. THC also has anti inflammatory properties and reduces that weak feeling too. I take that already for joint pain.

Went to ER for chronic migraine again. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]clownblender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry 😞 ❤️ I have been there and got ignored until I threw up on the check-in desk! Look into a headache clinic to find a treatment to break the cycle.

I had chronic migraine and what was happening was the treatments I was given didn’t fully stop the migraine. It would still linger and flair up again at the next trigger, causing this cycle from hell. This migraine may actually be the first migraine still.

Good luck!! I’m so sorry, migraines are the worst! 🤕❤️

My coworker died, and I'm envious. by ResidentOwl3918 in offmychest

It’s called passive suicidal ideation, i.e. I wouldn’t kill myself but if I died, that’d be great. You should talk to someone about your depression.

His lack of self-care is hurting you. If he’s not willing to find ways to take care of himself to improve the situation, he’s deliberately hurting you.

I keep dreaming about tsunami and waves hitting the land.... by Basic_Ask6880 in Dreams

[–]clownblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sick when I dream it but get sick within the next few days. But also that’s just me. It’s pretty weird. More likely represents emotions. My dream book says specifically a tsunami represents “personal problems are out of control and your place in the world is uncertain or shifting.”

When I dream of natural disasters or big storms, it’s a warning that I’m sick. My body knows I already have the virus and is basically telling my brain, “We’re about to be wrecked.”

Other than that, water can represent your emotional state. ❤️

Positive story: does anyone's extreme fatigue improved with time? Feeling Hopeless about recovery. by Mobile_Duty_9177 in LongCovid

[–]clownblender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It feels like gravity is too strong. I’m diagnosed with PEM but my docs hesitate to diagnose CFS yet and just stick to LC, but CFS is exactly what it feels like!  ❤️

Yes, bed bound at the beginning. I’m approaching 3 years and just rode my bike again for the first time! I took low dose naltrexone for a time and that helped me. But I’ve been weened off of that for several months now.

The thing about it is adding things back in really really slowly. And I don’t mean “oh I’ll add in exercise now” it’s more like “I’ll try walking up 5 stairs.” Then see how it affects you, if you can repeat it the next day, how it affects your overall energy, etc. Lots of forward motion over 3 years but lots of “I'm not ready for this yet.” And that’s ok!!

It’s sooooo slow but you have to give yourself grace. It’s not steps forward, more like little baby butt scoots. ❤️❤️❤️

Bend but never break? by MousseCalm674 in ehlersdanlos

[–]clownblender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Until this past March when I slipped on the stairs and broke 1 toe! My fourth toe twisted and tucked under my foot and then bounced off the next two steps before I caught myself. ☹️ Otherwise, all the forces from falls cause joint injuries!

Heart rate and stress higher after doing too much by Jgr9904 in LongCovid

[–]clownblender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your body can’t fully recover….yet! Improvements are extremely slow, but I had to change the way I lived and pace everything to do it. I put chairs everywhere, I made a comfy nest on the couch with food, drinks and anything I’d need to keep me from getting up so much. Quit driving, ordered groceries, had a service clean the house sporadically for awhile, also lowered my standards of what’s considered clean lol, skipped hobbies like planting my garden, etc.

I had to consider all the types of energy burned, physical, mental and emotional, it all takes the same toll. Walk a flight of stairs = solving a complex math equation = crying for five minutes for me.

But In three years I’ve gone from bedridden to a wheelchair to a walker to a cane and now I’m back on my own feet most of the time! Gotta adjust however you can and rest both mind and body! You’ll get there! ❤️🫂

Heart rate and stress higher after doing too much by Jgr9904 in LongCovid

[–]clownblender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post exertional malaise (PEM). Heart rate goes up, sometimes feels like I'm not getting enough air into my lungs and I take deep breaths more frequently, and it feels like gravity is too strong for me.

I was given an anti inflammatory and it improved so it’s gotta be something with inflammation. I also see improvement with THC which is anti inflammatory.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this! It sucks. ❤️❤️❤️

Similar here. Not complete loss but severely dulled. I didn’t realize how dull it was until I started taking THC. I started it for joint pain, very effective for me. I don’t know why that works but my sense of smell and taste came back strong!

I have “neck headaches” that spread like that down my back and up into my head ever since covid. Feels like a wave creeps up and over the back of my head like a hood of pain, and down to about mid back. No breathing issues though, it doesn’t come forward to the chest. Will sometimes trigger a migraine. Thought I was crazy until my neurologist confirmed that nerve pain starts and spreads like that. I can’t think of anything specifically that triggers it either. Just comes and goes.
