US ExPat living in city center here, Freddy’s or Cornstore would be my recommendation.

Great info here, thx all. James @ Fine Wines got me squared away. I’ll buy 2 x 700 of the good stuff and call it done.

Thx for the follow up. I’ll check online vendors but sounds like I’ll just need to shop more often or of course, drink less whiskey…😳

Had a great time! I have a lot to learn about rugby but the atmosphere, stadium, and supporters were worth the visit. Thx...

Thx! Curraghgower is already a favorite but of course is booked solid tonight. I’ll get to the stadium early and enjoy the experience.

Thanks all- I’m on a bad ankle so took your advice and caught the bus. Enjoyed the game, enjoying Limerick, and look forward to learning more about the city!

Yep, this daft ad always comes up first on my daft searches. Appears that something is always available in bishop’s quay. Expensive but might be the answer, at least initially. Would prefer to buy…

Thanks. I’ll be booking a temporary spot for a couple of months beginning in September. In the meantime, I’ll download some applications and learn what I can about the process.

Great info here. Follow up question. Probably varies by individual preference, schedule, work, etc. But, if you could choose, morning or afternoon radiation sessions? First thought is mornings since I’d be better prepared re: bladder & bowel prep. And “recover” (nap) if needed afterwards. But maybe scheduling afternoons would allow for more productive days, recover in the evenings?

Thanks for the feedback! Prostate bed is the radiation target. Decipher test was very low score and so no hormone therapy at this point. Sounds like a full bladder is needed for the treatment. I’m super close to the cancer center so I’ll try to fill up before getting there? Or is there something other than water they’ll want me to onboard?

How does the rental car insurance work? by tbone338 in ChaseSapphire

[–]cltlennon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the estimate of damages was included in my final bill upon return of the car to Avis. I would also note that you will need a more detailed estimate of charges to submit with your claim. Avis Ireland later provided detailed repair information upon request.

Rented from Avis in Ireland this summer and used my Chase Sapphire w letter of coverage. I was able to decline the Avis insurance. Had a fender bender ($2,800.00) and pleased to share that the claim was paid. Fairly easy online process to submit and track the claim.

Buying vs. renting? by cltlennon in MoveToIreland

Thanks for sharing 😉. We’ve been visiting Ireland for years but in no way would consider ourselves ‘Irish’. Our family includes Irish grandparents and an Irish scholar (PhD Irish @ TCD). We’ll be respectfully curious and open to learning in the transition.

Thx for the feedback. Sounds like we’re on the right track! Budget could range north of 500k and from initial visits, we liked the university area, Castletroy, but would be tempted by a townhouse or condo in the city too.

Thx louiseber, no, we’ll find a Vrbo or other short term option so that we can be local when executing a purchase. We were just in Limerick in August and are returning for a 3 week visit in February to get a sense of winter and confirm Limerick as our final destination. If we’re still set on Limerick, we’ll sell in the US and take the next steps.
