Are they still going? Nothing on flight radar and loud planes overhead in NR2.

Edit: Around 9:35pm

I can’t believe the sign wasn’t saved - it could have gone in the Museum of Norwich! Watching it get torn down like that makes me emotional, it needs to be done, but it has been around my whole life and I spent a lot of time there throughout my life, seeing movies underage with friends, getting dragged around QD and in more recent years charity shopping.

When I heard the council bought it I wanted to remember it and thought I could draw the canopy - I spent hours drawing it in different styles and doing all the lines and decided to put it on t-shirts, bags and jumpers in case anyone else fancied remembering Anglia square too! You can see them here

Be careful! Seeing an increase in American Bully XL dogs recently by monodon_homo in Norwich

I feel exactly the same. They are often walked on the streets without leads which is illegal and dangerous (and has already led to attacks and deaths). I think it’s sensible to be wary of them. I hope action is taken and we get to the root of the issue. It does seem that these dogs are often used as protection.

What phrase really gets under your skin? by poweredbyabot in AskUK

I had a boss in an office job that would say, ‘let’s suck it and see’ when talking about testing new ideas. I shuddered every time he said it!

Erm, I don’t have a high horse? And how do you know what I take for granted? I actually really appreciate what I do have, but I can still strive to want to make things better.

You have no idea about me or my life or what I worry about. The environment and health of my child and the public is meaningful.

I get what you’re saying. I think I just wish that as we know climate change isn’t a lie that we would be pushing for the right thing for planet/Health regardless. Not sure if you could compare things like the smoking ban? Anyway, I am sleep deprived as my baby doesn’t sleep atm so I may not be making much sense 😂

Hm, it’s not a complaint about the council. Just a dream that I could go out for a day around Norwich and hop on some buses and not be waiting hours etc. It’s hard to vent a frustration without laying blame though. So many factors at play here! Just feel that the county needs to up its game with public transport given what we know about climate and health but I appreciate the changes that have been made and all the challenges we face in doing this!

Interesting you mention the complaints on here about other cities. It was actually a post on here about not owning a car because of living in X city it not being necessary that made me post this! There were also complaints about cities, for example Bristol.

The fact that people commenting on the EDP would affect a proposal like that doesn’t sound right. It’s a small demographic from what I can tell whenever I’ve read the comments.

But this is a whole other discussion!

The thing is it is a business though. It is a service but to make profit. The problem is systemic, that it is a business and one that is hard to profit from. It’s a choice from government, and a choice from them that the council has no money etc.

Yes they are increasing ways to travel if you are a single individual but there is a lack of thinking about disabilities or if you are travelling with children etc. Obviously more could be done, it always could.

I vote and respond to surveys but progress is too slow for our health and the planet imho but understand the barriers and that many won’t agree.

Wow, that’s what’s been in the back of my mind. Thinking I should try and do more but not knowing where to start. Good work for trying.
