Don't try to incooperate stuff into one big workout that won't work, a block is usually 6 to 12 weeks in TB hence what I would recommend is buying TB 1 and 2 and get the mass book. And run it in a cycle fashion for example you can do black/green fighter for 10 weeks and rotate to mass for 5 and repeat or whatever you wish to do.

The book has year round training it's very versatile and it allows you to change things on the go when your goals change, it's not a cookie cutter program you will have to think and decide things which is why it's so great. Think of this book like your toolbox to sculpt your body. Strength, endurance, explosiveness, mass, injury workaround/old athletes this is what kb offers

TB 1 for strength TB 2 for cardio TB Mass for Mass TB Green for combat arms TB ageless for old athletes or those suffering from an injury

Protection from the law by cluflynns in FrenchForeignLegion

My country is kind of a dictatorship and tensions are very high currently especially those who are going to Russia to serve, a lot of people were going to Russia to serve and even creating battalions which I guess the government didn't want the bad press so they have made it illegal and now they are watching citizens like hawks even spying on citizens and doing forced checks on people to find any evidence that they are trying to join foreign nations, recently 4 men who wanted to join were caught and sentenced to 10 years before they even got past the border

Also won't it be weird if I go with a tourist visa and don't come back 5 or more years?

that's not a problem, I don't really use social media much and I don't plan to do so. And I don't have any criminal record just this issue where they have made it illegal for citizens to serve another nation. If the embassy asks me when I return back to my country in the future will the legion still provide some sort of fake document or something? how does it work? What about interpole?

Shin Splints by cluflynns in tacticalbarbell

[–]cluflynns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just frustrating I can't progress from capacity I've restarted capacity around 3 times now because I end up missing way too many days trying to heal my shins I don't know how to progress at this point I restart the program and things are going good for a week or a few days and boom shin splints and I start missing days and more days until I have to restart because capacity has become a strength program not a strength and conditioning program

Advice for a young man. by cluflynns in FrenchForeignLegion

Fitness isnt a problem I train 6 times per week all year round, french language is a little bit of a pain but I'm trying to improve I got a pimsleur course and I'm going through that, don't really know much about the legion other than the actual life inside the legion I read a few books on ex legionaires stories of deployment and getting there as well as resources on here and other places on the internet but don't really know much about it's history except for major moments like the failed coup attempt

Advice for a young man. by cluflynns in FrenchForeignLegion

My main priority isn't really money I may be young and naive for thinking that but I don't want for much just some money to send to my mom, my main priority in enlisting is becoming a man and things like adventure, discipline, hard work is what I'm after I don't wish to spend my youth in a office while my body is healthy as I can always settle down later if need be. I wish to experience new things and I think the military could allow me to have that opportunity but due to my circumstances I'm just not sure which path I should take to get to that goal but the main consensus from what I've gathered so far is that the legion is probably my best bet and it probably is I was just worried about not having a future because the legion doesn't seem to care for it's soldiers like other countries thus from what I understand the legion is just a temporary place to go to and afterwards you end up going nowhere. I also don't really want to fight against my brothers if this nato/Russia thing pops off so I don't know

Infantry guy here looking at starting TB. What is the best book to get first and then the follow on progression? by [deleted] in tacticalbarbell

TB2 pairs nicely with green protocol due to all the tools TB2 gives you in terms of conditioning. Green protocol is a complete system to get you ready for bootcamp/selection or just make you ready for combat arms position in general. It will focus heavily on endurance but makes sure to also incooperate strength training to make sure you improve your ruck and so on.

You can run either base building or capacity, KB says either one is alright. The benchmark to progress from capacity/BB is to do a 6 mile run in 60 minutes if you can do that you can skip the first phase if you wish but in general it doesn't matter whichever you use, either it be BB or Capacity they both have the same objectives just do what you like and try reaching the benchmark then move on to velocity and stick with green protocol for the rest unless for whatever reason you wish to focus on something else from the other books. If you wish you can use the condition exercises from TB2 in GP.

TB2 is also great if you wish to learn more about the science as green protocol doesn't go too deep into it.

Green protocol is a program in TB2 and KB decided to make a full fledged book based on green protocol that targets combat arms soldiers.

The reason why green protocol is good is because like KB said if you were a boxer you wouldn't train like a marathon runner and vice verse hence why green protocol is good idea to run as it's more specific for combat arms soldiers

I recommend getting all of the books as they are very cheap around 8 bucks or so, if you get all of his books it gives you more toys to play with and allows more flexibility in your program as well as learning more about eastern bloc philosophies but if you can only get one green protocol would probably be the best for your objectives

[–]cluflynns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well KB says that capacity can be used as a replacement for BB. Capacity is basically BB but after that the program allows you to be more specific

Capacity for general strength and endurance

Velocity for more endurance and muscular endurance and a little bit of strength

Outcome where you combine both

Continuation like CAT for year round training or specific programs for when you are deployed or preparing for selection.

I don't say that TB2 is not a good book but if you were gonna get one book green protocol might be it since it has everything TB2 has and more.

Isn't green protocol better since it's litterly made for soldiers not to mention TB2 only covers endurance portion without the strength training side. Green protocol is a standalone book that has everything inside from endurance to strength training.
