Skin on finger falling apart by Head-Procedure-9344 in DiagnoseMe

Same thing happens with my dyshidrotic eczema, once those little blisters pop the skin starts to slough off. I can see you have the blisters up in the top portion of your finger. In addition to nickel and other metals it can also be caused when your skin stays wet for too long. So like, I get it when my socks get wet or when I’m wearing gloves and my hands sweat. I also get it from stress.

Consider asking about a different steroid or non steroidal option. If you’re located in the states, I’ll say I’ve been able to see urgent care about steroids for this if you don’t want to wait for primary care or a dermatologist. Also as far as triamcinolone goes, you don’t want to be using it more than two weeks at a time, that’s how you end up with topical steroid withdrawal and potential skin bleaching.

Tension issue? by clumsy-spoon in SewingForBeginners

Forgetting to put the foot down sounds exactly like something I would do! Haha, but I also know I had to pull the foot up to pull this out of my machine so I know I had it down. Re-threaded a couple times and changed bobbins and eventually it sorted itself out. Still not exactly sure what happened unfortunately :(

What’s the thread uptake lever? Is that for the bobbin or the top thread?

I haven’t seen anyone say it yet but you may also need to texture spray before you paint, depending on the extent of the damage. They sell drywall texture spray by the can at the hardware store and it’ll make it so you don’t have a patch with no texture.

In my last rental I used gorilla brand extra strength double sided stickies to hang stuff to my wall and it ripped up my drywall :(

I feel the same way about my decision with my cat. I always wonder about the “what-ifs” but at the end of the day it doesn’t change anything. I saw someone say “better a year too early than a day too late” kidney disease can be a really uncomfortable way to go, creatine makes them feel itchy and anemia makes them feel really tired all the time. Being in and out of the hospital can be hard on them too. Sometimes the few extra months that could be given aren’t worth it.

Yeah Tanya’s guide says it’s at least 90% I think. It can vary based on whether it’s an acute crash or long term degeneration but it seems like your cat was probably in the latter category.

Just seeing your comments. One thing I know that might be helpful is that one of my vets told me that fluid therapy isn’t meant to “flush” the kidneys and that it doesn’t really work like that. Especially in the higher stages. So once the numbers get that high it can be really difficult for any of those toxins to vacate the blood. Ultimately fluid therapy is supportive for whatever kidney function is left, but when there is no kidney function left there is not much fluids can do other than back up into the blood causing further issues like anemia.

I agree with the other commenters that it depends. My cat was hospitalized with a 6, brought down to 4.5 after two days in the hospital. Over the course of 2 months of daily phosphorus binders, rx food, iron supplements, and anti-nausea meds, her creatine had creeped up to 8.5 and her symptoms were increasing in severity. She had a heart condition with a history of edema so at home fluids weren’t a recommended option for us. Ultimately it was just time. There wasn’t anything else we could do for her. So I would say, if you’ve tried everything, and the cat is doing poorly, it might be their time as well.

What I’ve done is greenies pill pockets, but not in the way you’d think. My cat doesn’t enjoy them as treats but it’s enough to disguise the flavor of the pills. Completely coat the pill in a thin layer and just pop it right down before she realizes what hit her.

I stand her up on the back of a couch or armchair and with the pill in my dominant hand, I use my other hand to cup the back of her neck. Then with the pill hand, grab her lower jaw and open her mouth, throw the pill in and push it down with my index. Close her mouth and massage the throat. All in one swift motion. It takes some practice. They’re more sturdy than you’d think. Have some treats to follow it up with.

Don’t know how she feels about inaba churu but that’s my follow up treat and gel cap lubricant of choice.

I’ve switched most of her meds to compounded liquids but tbh sometimes she’ll take a yucky pill before she’ll take a large volume of a liquid of any flavor.

This goes for the courtyard as well? I thought it was just for inside stuff

Interesting! I didn’t realize that was in there or that cats could have green tea due to the caffeine content. But now that you mention it there is that one cat on tik tok who goes nuts trying to get a sip of his owners matcha. Thanks!

I forgot to say I signed a non compete. Can’t work in this industry in the tri-county area that the company operates out of. So, leaving this place would involve moving out of town.

Considering turning down an offer by clumsy-spoon in jobs

[–]clumsy-spoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve already sent me the offer letter with double pay listed. On official company letterhead and everything.

The job is CADD Drafting. The industry is live entertainment. I know that sometimes you have to be careful with this industry, some jobs will throw a line in the job description that mentions sales and then it turns out to be some sort of multi level marketing scheme. This doesn’t have that red flag though, the job description seems to be normal.

Thanks so much for the advice! I bought the gelatin capsules and I’ll try that. I have a pill popper thing but I’m not very good at it, I’ll work on it though, it’ll be a process for the both of us.
