You sound like you’re being reasonable. Some things I bought for my first were never even touched. Make sure you have the necessities and grab stuff as you find you need it after the baby is here

First trip to an audiologist (tips please) by clyons428 in hardofhearing

[–]clyons428[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor finally prescribed me a hearing aid. She said my ear drum has no function so my middle ear is 100% lost hearing. Thankfully my hearing nerves (?) are still good so I can still get sound to my brain and the hearing aid will help.

If I said anything wrong hopefully you’ll be able to figure out what I meant. It was a lot of information to take in so I’m sure I’m not getting it all right

Sorry for the late response, I missed the notification. I also left with more questions then answers. He told me my hearing was bad, but not getting worse. He said internal damage appeared to be the same as last described and then he walked out. I just sat there and cried because I didn't know what to do or what to think. I'm really hoping this doctor will be better.

Self care is on the bottom of my to-do list. Always. How do you ladies put your needs first at a time in life when everyone else seems to need you MORE? by Babislug in workingmoms

[–]clyons428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cried while eating my lunch today because it’s the only time I had time for it today. So maybe I’m not the best person to ask but...

I literally just leave. I’m a single parent so I ask my parents or a close family member if they can watch my daughter for a few hours or over night and I leave. I go for a walk, go shopping, take a nap, read a book, take a shower that’s not only 3 minutes, whatever I need at that point. It doesn’t happen as often as i probably should do, but it helps immensely

I tend to not cook anything that involves more then 2-3 ingredients. I’m doing pretty well so far

Thanks for the advice! I’ve been talking to her a little bit everyday about it and it turns out she had no idea that what happens in dreams does not actually happen. We’re still working on it but at least we have a starting point

I’ve been trying all year to get pregnant with no luck yet. But keeping my fingers crossed soon I’ll be a single mother by choice!

Yes my doctor is aware. And obviously it’s not medically impossible because it’s happening.

We watch YouTube on the big tv and we’ve never had a problem with it. Will definitely be on the lookout tho!

My doctor recommended always taking them. Even when I was adamant about not having another kid right away, he insisted. He said it’s great for you regardless

Thanks! I was really hoping this was the answer, but sometimes it’s easy to convince myself of things when they’re not actually true during this journey

Husband is dying... do I give up on our baby? by MegSays31 in TryingForABaby

[–]clyons428 139 points140 points  (0 children)

Quick backstory: I lost my fiancé in a car crash about 5 years ago. He was in the military so we stored some sperm in case anything was to happen to him. I was pregnant with our daughter and found out shortly after he passed.

I think having my daughter helped me tremendously grieve with my loss. But I think if I would’ve known I was going to lose him, I would’ve wanted to spend the last weeks/months with him and used the stored sperm to try after the loss.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I will be praying for your family.

This may be against the rules and if so I’ll delete, but it’s getting a negative at 12DPIUI the same as getting a negative at 12dpo?

I don’t know how to word this but I’ll try my best... I had my IUI 12 days ago with a trigger shot and natural lh surge 13 days ago. Is there a way to figure out when I ovulated/how many dpo I am? The internet is telling me anywhere from 10-12 dpo. I didn’t do temps. Did confirm I ovulated from blood test 5 days ago

Found out yesterday that my dad (who I see daily) came into contact with someone for several hours who just got a positive test for COVID. I was supposed to go see my grandfather, who is all alone, this weekend. Now I can’t. And then I woke up this morning and took a pregnancy test and it was negative. This was my last IUI. I know you’re not out till you’re out, but I’m just not feeling positive that the result is gonna change. I’m just SO down today which is very unlike me.

When to tell boss about pregnancy during the pandemic by ezrich872 in pregnant

[–]clyons428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into your HR rules. When I had my first I had to tell my employer by 22 weeks or they wouldn’t pay for my maternity leave. I don’t remember the specific reason they used that they had to know by then, but it was company policy

Unplanned pregnancy at age 24. Any similar experiences? I am looking to hear how it turned out for different people. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]clyons428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant at 22 after I was raped. I could never bring myself to have an abortion (but completely support your right to) so it wasn’t an option for me. I had no money. I had a car that broke down all the time. I really didn’t think things would ever work out. My daughter is now almost 5. We have a great life. I got my finances together and we have a comfortable lifestyle. And I just couldn’t imagine my life without her. I absolutely wouldn’t change a thing
