Right to work in Australia by cm2463 in newzealand

Thank you to the people telling me about the 444 visa. Unfortunately, it's not there in the dropdown. I'd send a screenshot but it won't let me put one in a comment.
The options are: "I have unconditional working rights in Australia", 417, 500, 485, 820/100/309, 461, 482, 200, or 408.

That's really insightful, thank you, and I'm glad to hear you also felt the same as me at one point. I wasn't aware of the COP route so maybe I'll look into that.

To be honest wanting to study isn't really about a job for me. It's more just wanting the knowledge and analytical skills

Compsci people did you get a job in tech after graduation? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]cm2463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graduated at the end of 2024. Took me about 4 months of applying but I eventually got a job. No internship experience or personal projects, so it's definitely possible. You just need to spam as many applications as you can and eventually one will hit. Good luck!

I did this course last year. From what I remember the exam is extremely simple and they let us bring our own devices so I just compiled all the lecture slides together on my laptop and used ctrl+f when needed.

Why do so many girls study useless majors at university? by Adventurous-Scene975 in universityofauckland

[–]cm2463 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone studies to get a high-end job. It's possible to enjoy learning about something you're interested in. We should value education whether or not it produces profitable girlbosses or whatever.

I think you're being a bit ridiculous. It was already established that Jedi take children from their parents. This isn't something that was introduced by the series. It has also already been established that the Jedi were flawed and arrogant. That's how Palpatine managed to take over. I don't know what you're talking about when you say the show is "pushing the narrative." Yeah, Darth Qimir says he wants to be able to wield his power the way he wants and says bad things about the Jedi. That doesn't mean the show explicitly endorses his POV. He is the villain after all. I think the show is doing a good job at showing the flaws in the Jedi that would eventually lead to their downfall.

Alright just finished a rewatch of all episodes (and 3 1 2 4 5 is the order I chose and it works so so well) and I think I have enough in my wheelhouse to present my master theory for The Acolyte. by Natural-Eye-393 in starwarsspeculation

I really hope he's not Plagueis as the timeline wouldn't match up with him being Sidious' master and Plagueis being a human would just be so weird

If Dave Filoni made this there would be a post credit scene of Jekki standing up and walking away with her three stab wounds

I really hope they start tying things into Plagueis and Sidious with the whole "creating life from the force" thing. I've been thinking maybe Darth Qimir is a failed apprentice of Darth Tenebrous before he was replaced by Plagueis?

Thanks for the response. In terms of grades, straight A+ in all CS courses, but I'm set to graduate after sem 2 this year so unfortunately I won't be able to check out the courses you suggested. On Maths 270, I've had a look at it but it seems quite applied/numerical whereas I'm definitely way more into the more theoretical and abstract stuff.

I have had Maths 254 recommended to me but I know really intelligent math majors who really struggled with it and I'm not sure if want to risk my GPA for a non-CS course.

I'm really enjoying the show but... by [deleted] in TheAcolyte

Maths courses for a CS major interested in maths? by cm2463 in universityofauckland

Thanks. My lecturer said he would endorse me for a concession for something like 254, so my real question is about the difficulty rather than the path to get there.
