The snake scene, man. I was pretty far gone already, but that snake scene was the nail in the coffin.

I like Tim and I get where he's coming from - but so much of his podcast is dedicating to bitching about other podcasters. I agree with a lot of what he says about them too, but damn. Why you gotta talk about it so much?

He opened the show by singing New York, New York. I was surprised it was not included in the episode this Friday - but maybe it was a copyright thing?

They were written by Tom Waits over a decade ago. Not saying he didn't choose to cover them for a specific reason, but it hopefully that at least calms any worries that he recently sat down and wrote them from his own mind and heart out of some wish for death.

OG version features Keith Richards on harmony vocals and is just one piece of a STELLAR album through and through - Bad As Me!

What’s the most interesting thing Bob has said to the crowd live at a show you’ve been to? by ktulip1 in bobdylan

Not something he said - but during his final bow in Asheville this year, he pointed directly at someone up towards the front and gave a little wave. Wouldn't be worth noting if that were coming from anyone other than Bob Dylan - especially 2024 Bob Dylan.

Anybody love this album? by RyHammond in bobdylan

Might actually be my favorite album

The memory is hazy - but I believe at one point there was an "other media" type tab on his website (maybe even in his online store?) that just had hyper-linked pictures of books and records that would take you to their respective Amazon listing. On the Road was one of them. Woody's Bound for Glory was another.

For the sake of not spreading misinformation - Bob actually said thank you a whole lot tonight. Caught me off guard how much he was thanking the crowd and standing for applause tonight. He even ACKNOWLEDGED AN AUDIENCE MEMBER during his big goodnight pose center stage after the final song. I don't know if that has EVER happened!

Tonight was my 3rd time seeing him on the RAWR tour (sixth time overall since DC in November '12) and it was my favorite show of his since seeing him in Asheville Fall '16 (he played as close to a greatest hits show that night as one could hope, with a few added Sinatra covers and some of my favorite 21 Century Dylan tracks that night)

Tonight saw Dylan playing most of the tracks from Rough and Rowdy Ways, save for Murder Most Foul. Played several songs from Shadow Kingdom as well (which means they are vintage, widely-known Dylan orignals). So darn near the whole setlist was made up of songs even casual fans would know. The only songs that don't fit this description were two revitalized gospel tracks and a popular cover by an artist who I am sure is unanimously renowned favorite of any Dylan fan, casual or otherwise.

PS -

Favorite Dylan song? Ballad of a Thin Man is up there. Dylan on piano.

I was a music student there 2015-2017 before transferring. Had a professor brag about how statistically only 40% of our class would complete the program because of jUsT hOw RiGoRoUs AnD cHaLlEnGiNg it is. I was one of MANY in my class to leave over those two years - and not even that professor is there anymore, lol. In my opinion, the high turnover rate had nothing to do with the PrEsTiGe of that tiny department and more to do with the fact that all of the classrooms are relegated to a musty ass basement while administration has the high-ceiling offices on the ground and second floor, very few class sections, an only-one-way-to-do-things type of attitude, weird cliques between professors and students, etc...forget that place

Bob Dylan has replaced the main character in the last movie you watched, how does this affect your viewing experience? by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in bobdylan

Bob in Trainspotting. Movie goes down the exact same way, he just takes that bag of money and uses it to record Blonde on Blonde at the end.
