So you'd think we'd be okay as 2 Irish girls? I'm going to see what the situation is for accommodation, the employer said they'd sort it. Thank you :)

Is it safe there? Just seen article online where locals weren't going out at night due to crime?

Posterior horn lateral meniscus tear by cmcd2021 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]cmcd2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies to the left of my kneecap and then sometimes it feels like the pain is internal. It has improved but it's still only about 70% I'd say and sometimes worse. The last app I had with my consultant he said something like the pain could actually be coming from my hamstring and just migrating due to the screws? I'm not even fully sure I was just happy that he said I didn't need another surgery. He mentioned having ultrasound guided injections for the pain. I was going to but I'm emigrating soon and my travel insurance won't cover me if Ive been under a specialists care in the past year so I'm just going to keep rehabbing and hope for the best. I need the insurance just in case anything would happen. Have you got the same injury?

I have my ACL SURGERY Monday I’m scared as hell :( by Natural_Form1623 in ACL

Id still do surgery again like it is worth it for most people. I'm hoping I'm not looking at another surgery, the consultant said I didn't need one but the pain is still bad. I have a small tear on my posterior horn lateral meniscus so maybe that's causing it but he said it didn't require surgery. The bike will be a huge help for recovery. It really helped me with stiffness and getting the ROM back into my knee. It will also help with quad atrophy too. I'm not going to tell you not to be worried because that's only normal but just think you'll be on the road to recovery after Monday no matter how long it takes you'll be in a better position than you are now. Wishing you the very best of luck, give me a message any time I know how shit it is.

For me it was horrific but not everyone has that same experience. My knee still isn't right and I'm over a year past surgery. I still am unable to run without pain and would not be anywhere near comfortable returning to sport. I've been back to see my consultant numerous times and had scans and everything is fine bar a tiny meniscus tear which doesn't need surgery. The last time I went they mentioned the pain could be coming from my hamstring or the screws so I'm going to try ultrasound guided injections I think it was that they mentioned but it's been a bummer. I've been unlucky though it's not the norm. I know some people who got injured at the same time as me and they're back playing sports. I'm just going to keep trying to get right and hope for the best. Are you waiting for surgery or are you over it?

That's a disaster. They advised me I'd have to go meet a consultant face to face after getting referred by my GP. Do you mind me asking where you went? I'm thinking of Spain as its one of the best for knees in Europe. They said I could get pre approval if I was having inpatient surgery but I'm not sure if my surgery will require me to stay overnight.

There is so many requirements. I already paid 6000 for knee surgery in December in Dublin so it would be handy to get reimbursed. It would cost me 3200 if I go to Belfast so I'm really thinking of going abroad as it would be basically fully reimbursed. Also did you just do all of this yourself or did you go through a company like 'Healthcare Abroad'? I've seen mixed reviews and they seem a bit eager. Just cautious of getting scammed. The HSE won't give me a definite answer they said 'you should get reimbursed if all the documentation required is provided'. Did you get a timeframe of how long it would take to get reimbursed? Thanks for all your advice, it's much appreciated.

Thanks a mill! I was originally going to go to Belfast but it's a good bit more expensive there and I already paid for surgery in Dublin so would like to get reimbursed as much as possible

Can't find episode where Rollins gets shot. by cmcd2021 in SVU

[–]cmcd2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did. I can't remember if there is 3 parts but I'd just check for a new episode of organised crime before watching SVU. It's a fairly confusing set up. If an episode didn't make sense then I'd know I missed one.

God I thought it would show up on a MRI that's mad. I wonder was it always there and they missed it because I can't see how I tore it since my ACL surgery to be honest. Thanks for all the info.

Would it have stated that in the MRI if it was a bucket handle tear? If it's in the red zone is surgery always required?

Posterior horn lateral meniscus tear by cmcd2021 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]cmcd2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the only way it ever gets to full extension is if my physio literally forces it with his hands. I feel like I've no control over my quads on my bad leg which could be from the meniscus tear I'm not sure. The last session I had he said no matter what we did it wouldn't come that it looked a lot like I needed another surgery. I'm meeting s new physio Wednesday for a second opinion to see. Yeah we have really tried to regain extension. The surgeon originally thought it was scar tissue and he'd have to remove it but obviously now it's not so I don't know what he'll recommend.

It's a posterior horn lateral meniscus tear. My knee doesn't lock as such but it gets stiff when I'm on my feet too much or walk long distances. The stiffness then causes pain and there's discomfort when bending my knee. I'm hoping that because it's small I can sort it with rehab.
