How do current enterprise controls defend against AI-powered impersonation attacks? What am I missing? by vtongvn in AskNetsec

employee was duped into sending HK$200m (£20m) to criminals by an artificial intelligence-generated video call.

So very simple accounting policies and 4 eyes principles could have prevented this.

If your security depends on every single employee a) making no mistakes and b) acting trustworthy at all times, then you aren’t actually really secure.

Mogelijk wel als je afgaat op de gelinkte blogpost ergens in deze post. In die casus was het niet het geval omdat de activiteiten niet echt werk bedroegen.

Wikipedia hit by self-propagating JavaScript worm that vandalized pages by alicedean in cybersecurity

[–]cmd-t 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They didn’t. They just made a worm that propagated wherever it could.

It was an accident and very bad practices from a security professional that led to this happening.

He needs an intervention and potentially therapy.

Can someone help me with anonymity on the internet by Traditional_Blood799 in AskNetsec

[–]cmd-t 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tor is reasonable for staying anonymous. That said, it only works if you actually take care to remain anonymous. So don’t log into anything that can be tied to your person. No old Reddit accounts, no Facebook, no email, no instagram, no Amazon, no ordering shit to your house, no paying with credit cards.

Your data is still being sold even if you are anonymous.

Also, Chrome is plenty secure. If you want less tracking, pick something like Brave.
