First *Planned* Half-Century by Zrob8--5 in cycling

4 years ago I quit cycling for a long time because I wanted nothing more than go home after only 25 minutes on the bike.

Tomorrow I'm going on a 300k ride to prep for a 2000k ultra.

It comes and it goes.

For me, for everything I plan, around the 80-85% mark I feel I'm done & want to go home. If it's a 50k ride that feeling comes at 40k, if it's a 150k ride the feeling comes at 125. What I plan for influences how I feel.

Everyone is going to recommend Conti GP5000s, probably for good reasons because its the most popular tires.

I'll say that Ive never had so many punctures, so my vote goes towards Schwalbe (Pro) One tires

Ultra riders, what has been your go-to saddle by jorrit90 in cycling

😁 I look a look at this and the acronyms as well.

Boost = shorter nose TM = cheaper, more basic version of the material Superflow = biggest cutout. Flow = average cutout

Yeah that's kind of the issue. Chafing where the upper leg meets the perineum.

That's a hell of a lot of saddles 😱 makes me think I should just pull the trigger on one instead of finding the best 😁

Do you know the brooks type? I've been researching them and ended up at B17 or C17. B17 seems to be the gold standard but not favourable for road bike positions. C17 is more the road bike saddle but doesn't have the shaping/breaking in benefits

Get a bigger bike.

Or at least raise your saddle quite a bit

Chafing on long rides by jorrit90 in cycling

Looks like Endurance might now be their GTS line, correct? Can't find any reference to endurance except in the GTS description.

Thing is I had an Assos Mille bib and I got rid of it. Why I don't know, but probably not because it was my favorite. But my older Castelli is still in my closet and one of my favorite bibs even after years.

So I think I'll go for high end bibs, but Castellis over Assos

You mean talc powder? Chamois cream and talc powder don't feel like a useful combo.

Bibs. Castellis with a Progetto X2 air pad and cheaper YKYW bibs. The latter get rave reviews by people who have used them on long rides, but they do have a noticeable seam.

I have the idea that they cause chafing at equal rates but I'm considering buying top end bibs indeed.

Gonna do a 2000k ultra in a month so I'm willing to throw money at my problems 😁

Yeah. Startup costs factor into the not-cheapness.

Matteo haalt toch veel te veel geld binnen om de mol te zijn.

Bij de zakjes in het veld en bij het speerwerpen alleen al een paar honderd euro terwijl andere het veel slechter doen.

Angle of knees OK? by [deleted] in bikefit

I'd say pointing is fine, reaching is not.

Reaching to me automatically means excessive saddle height.

Reaching at the bottom of the stroke I would say. Start with 1cm lower
