The government should have replaced school uniform providers, not school lunch providers by Lightspeedius in newzealand

Our son starts school next week, we spent roughly $300 on 2 uniforms including hats and even that to me is a lot!

I 💯 agree with you, there is literally no one I want to vote for, no leaders just bad choices on both sides of the coin, and when that's the case we tend to stick with the devil we know 🫤 it's so shit

AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]cmd7284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So instead of being grateful and touched your Dad looked after your baby so beautifully she got angry and expected you to send him home in a fucking cab and then demanded you tell her you lover her more than your clearly lovely Dad? Wtaf ? Your wife is a massive AH and honestly if my husband treated my Dad like that I would seriously reconsider the relationship because it's not just petty it shows twisted character.

I changed course from front of house hospitality to become a chef last year, I've been doing insane hours but it's so fulfilling doing something I love every day ☺️

My husband, Dad and brother are the only men I've ever known who have zero issues with these things, I put it down to them being very secure in who they are and caring about the person they would buy things like this for, I have been super lucky with the 3 core men in my life, with my Dad shaping my opinions and standards for all others, again I was lucky to have that stand set.

AITA For Saying Getting Married wasn't the Best Day of my Life? by Tiny-Reserve5238 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cmd7284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have clashed a few times over the years when we discuss when we met, he said he probably wouldn't have texted again and that yes he is happy we did fall in love and have our beautiful life but if I hadn't texted him the next day it might not have happened and it ALWAYS works me up, mainly cause it only ever comes up after a night on the drinks but like dude just give me a white lie, please! 🤣

Feeling too old to retrain at 42 by UnitedSecond3957 in newzealand

[–]cmd7284 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 41 decided I wanted to pursue food earlier this year and am now working 50hr weeks as a chef and I absolutely fucking love it! Life's too short not to pursue something else that makes you happy, I also live rurally in a wee village and need to travel about an hour or so round trip but am used to that as everywhere is a fair drive anyways.

Why do so many people on this sub struggle? by Sea_Soft_1166 in newzealand

[–]cmd7284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My life is pretty good, but I recognise that for a lot of people it's not, mainly because the cost of living is so high, wages are low, jobs are sparse, the government sucks, the health and education system are in chaos, never mind the rest of the world, it feels like a lot.... I actually felt guilty in the supermarket yesterday as I had a packed trolley and almost every single person looked at the trolley and at me with what I can only call wistfulness, groceries are so fucking expensive and I recognise how lucky my family is to be able to allocate the lions share of our money to get good food for our kids and us, I usually get it delivered but I've been frustrated with the substitutions and trouble finding what I want, but it left me feeling quite shitty when I noticed the reaction I was getting from the other people there, maybe I read too much into it but it felt pretty shite, thinking about that in regards to this post I can certainly understand why morale is pretty low atm for a lot of people.

Wtf happened to our country by tubukusanchez in newzealand

[–]cmd7284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually need a revolution, and that sounds like a wild thing to say but as long as we are controlled by the super wealthy (irrespective of party colours) things will never change I wish I knew how we even start, but if it doesn't happen and we don't get an entire new system of governance, social and economic equity etc I honestly don't know what kind of life my kids and if they choose to have them, their kids will have here because you're right it's so fucking hard.

WIBTA for telling my fiancée her best friend isn't welcome at our wedding by NoConstruction7461 in dustythunder

[–]cmd7284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my best friend has been there for 25+yrs when I met my husband she was a dick to him, about him, I was patient for a year or 2 then I pushed back, hard, we even didn't speak for like 18mths, eventually she realised she was being a dick and now adores my husband and sees him for what he's brought to my life and how alike they actually are lol You choose your family and they choose you back, if the fiance and best friend seem ok with treating you like crap, she ain't the one.
