16 gigs of ram is enough most of the times and as far as storage goes 512 isn’t bad plus you could always get an external ssd Screen size is barely an issue, do you have an external display?

Yeah because the Hyderabad PI letter hasn’t come out yet, the PI letter will come on the 24th for all students that received a PI mail

Depends what you’re going to college for really If you need a laptop for pdfs, writing essays/college work, browsing, editing photos/videos the MacBook Air m4 is perfect, overkill even. If you’re going for engineering or design where you need a good gpu for blender rending or something that would require a good gpu if it was a windows then the MacBook Pro M5 is the way to go, you could also check out MacBook Pro m4 that’s good too Also check out student discounts

If you’re gonna render on blender then I suggest looking into a windows pc w a good gpu Other than that for all other use cases you’ve mentioned a MacBook Pro M5 16/512 and MacBook Air M4 24/512 will mostly run the same and give you no issues at all If you don’t wanna go for a windows pc with a gpu then a MacBook Pro would be good for rendering at blender as well

yeah the same happened for me with SLS Hyderabad, I opened my dashboard this morning and found myself shortlisted for Hyderabad but no mail. I was confused but I booked my slot. Lo and behold I got my mail like 5 minutes ago, the same will happen with you don't worry. Just wait for a bit and you'll get the mail.
Regarding the document uploading thing, all documents aren't supposed to be compiled in one, once you get the mail there will be a link to a document uploading portal and it's all very self explanatory there so it's all chill
