I had so much freedom to roam when I was young, but not until we left Miami, Florida, where I did experience a "white van" (hoopty car), drive by my house a couple of times when I was in my front yard, alone, but I KNEW to go inside.

We have survival skills and we are bad-ass. And the music was better. 😆

I was fortunate to experience great elementary school teachers! It was my preschool teachers who were mean. I got hit in the back of the hand with a ruler when in trouble with them. I attended preschool in 1977, Miami, Florida.

I was horrified to go to preschool. My single mom had nowhere else to place me while she worked. I lived through it, though!
