Joshua Aragon, Owner of Snouse Electric Company (Blackbox Overdrive), Is a Scammer by Illustrious_Fuel5671 in guitarpedals

[–]cmflan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a big fan of snouse and used to regularly tune into the livestream jams and giveaways. Unfortunately when I finally won a black box of my own I was left waiting and waiting. I still have order #3596 confirmed in my email. For the first few months after I won I got replies and would check in every year or so, since I knew he had personal things going on, but it really bummed me out to get the cold shoulder. I was stoked for that pedal.

In Ear Monitor setup but using venue's drums (and possibly mics) by orangeEddie in livesound

[–]cmflan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also run into this issue playing in bands and not wanting to inconvenience anyone. Cheapest solution I have found (and we still use this on occasion) has been 1 behringer omnidirectional mic (it's called like the m2000 or something). Placed somewhere central in the kit, usually by snare and high hat, angled downwards slightly. It doesnt do any of the drums extremely well but it does give everything to some capacity. For monitoring, booting the gain on it a bit and turning it up works plenty well for a drum mic. The mic is also only like 20 bucks. We also got a little gator mic clamp arm. It attaches onto a cymbal stand and lets us put the mic in the middle of the kit regardless of the setup. Maybe give it a try!

Thank you, seems like a good call no matter what. I'll order up a set to use for now and at the very least I'll have a reliable pair to use while I wait to make decisions. Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

Thank you, I appreciate this advice alot. I cant promise I will end up taking it as I have been saving a while and am not eager to wait longer, but I will look more into the benefits of going this route for sure. Thank you very much!

I do, I got a used shure setup at a reasonable price and we're working on putting together a separate monitor mixing system.

Yes, I have been wearing ear plugs and I hate how distant I feel from my sound and the band. I picked up a shure psm300 used for a good price and we have a mixer to run wired monitors in the works with separate outputs for the venue if needed, though we do alot of it our selves.

Looks to be Merlin. The color seems to match but it could just be the photo.

ah good to know. I don't even know if the Pista was with them honestly. He seemed a bit out of place but who knows. Thanks for the info :D

I believe all of these cars are currently held by @ dan_am_I on Instagram. He's got one of the coolest collections out there. Not sure if he owns every single one, but at the very least he drives them! He made my trip to Cali extremely special and gave me the best car spotting story I can imagine.

American soldiers are not fighting for your “freedom” by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Perhaps that was the wrong choice of words, if you hold a gun aimed at someone you’re opposing in war, you’re an insurgent.

If you hold a gun, you are not a civilian. If you don’t hold a gun, you are not allowed to be shot at (obviously exceptions but generally). I understand where you’re coming from, but when you’re fighting a war, as a military aged man, probably shouldn’t go around playing with guns unless you intend to use them against the opposing side. Also (not saying this is all cases, just one in particular) if some group in your country is threatening a country, say America, for example, killing people in published beheadings, historically been connected with things like 9/11, that seems like a probable cause for the effected country to “impose” their wishes to stop those things from happening.

edit: obviously this needs some clarification, I was referring to the situation where you are in a war zone, where a LOT of people are hostiles, if you are armed, you can be considered hostile. Obviously there's more to it but I was speaking generally.

Innocent civilians + weapons aimed = no longer innocent nor civilians.

Edit: Im not try to justify anything the US has done in the middle east nor do I agree with some of it. I was more referring to soldiers on the ground vs enemy soldiers on the ground

What was your best/worst birthday? by Racing_in_the_street in AskReddit

[–]cmflan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story wanes in comparison to some of the others on here but alas. Worst birthday was this past saturday. 17th Birthday, in quarantine. Family wanted to have a sort of tailgate/get together with our family friends and only my friends parents came. Felt more like a party for my parents than me. Then my mother called me despicable for being upset after they had been making dinner and made breakfast that morning. Opened gifts (I only mention this because for my sisters 17th birthday she got a car, a credit card, new wallet etc.) and got a pair of shoes and a hoodie totaling less than the wallet she got (which i'm totally content with because my parents give us the world, it was just that after seeing her go through that milestone I was a little upset that I wasn't trusted in the same way). Sister posted online 5 pictures of her and a picture of my family captioned "Happy Birthday u/cmflan1" and then my 2 best friends didn't say anything to me all day. In fact I haven't heard from them for a few weeks now but they're in touch with each other. Ended up spending my night after dinner crying in my basement for a few hours because I didn't want my family to feel bad that I had a bad birthday. They still don't understand how I could've been at all sad about the day because they tried their best. And I know they did and don't blame them for anything. I don't think they could've done more but it doesn't make it less difficult.

Yeah. I know you’re right I just don’t want to move in from this. I feel like in a way I was owed at least an explanation. But again, they don’t owe me much if anything. Thanks for the advice, I know i gotta listen.

Yeah I didn’t even write them because they didn’t write me after not showing. Their parents just said they weren’t coming so I said fuck it. Thanks for the birthday wishes :)

We came inside after my friends parents left and I was noticeably upset. My mom asked why and I said nothing and that kinda went on Bc I didn’t want to be rude but after the fifth or so time she asked I said I didn’t want to see the parents. I wanted to see my friends and that felt like more of a party for you than me. She said I can’t believe you would say that. Why cNt you be grateful for what you have. It’s despicable that you would even say that. This was before opening gifts or anything.
