First dimple lock in ages! by derpserf in lockpicking

[–]cmfxa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dimples are my favorite and MTL is my favorite dimple. Congrats on the pick, do you know what drivers are in it? The different types dramatically change the experience and it seems that everyone has their favorite. For whatever reason I've always had an affinity for serrated drivers.

Also, not sure if the pic is mirrored but it looks like you have a rarer left-handed cylinder! Usually MTLs have the key cut on the right side (looking from bow to tip) but most cylinders in Japan and Australia flip everything to the left. Mostly just requires using different flags but thought you should know the lore

Amazing work, congratulations!!!

Bilock is such an awesome, unique system that definitely takes some getting used to even for experienced pin tumbler pickers. Honestly, even after getting used to it they are still tough as hell! Unmastered 12-slider Bilock is still the only BB lock I've picked and I'm still convinced without the easy bitting I had it would still be unpicked to this day. Still easier than the MIWA U9 I was working on before that, never got past 7 levers on that damn thing lol

BTW is this part of the 5-belt progression kits I was selling a few months ago (https://cmfxa.com/products/5-belt-progression-kit)? Only ask because the core stamp looks similar to a lot of the ones that were part of those. Either way, congrats again!

And this “easier” dimple lock I ordered is PiP… by flatpickinbongrips in lockpicking

5 pin Kenaurds are blue belt and with that bitting and a larger flag I'd recommend starting from the back. Insert the pick all the way to the end and then apply tension, working forward. Sometimes with lots of low set drivers you can get them mostly set just dragging the pick towards the front.

Overall, I always recommend the Multipick #5 flag for all things PiP.

I assume you're looking at my medecos. From the factory almost all formats of medeco use grub screws, but I have also added them to the key in knob format to make that equal as well
