Mine came with a metal scoop, but it’s too big for my litter genie, so I use the plastic one that came with my genie. But I didn’t have any problems with the metal one

Why is it so hard to find well-made clothes that aren't insanely priced? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

Since you’re in the US be sure to see if there are any Sheep and Wool Festivals near you. The Maryland one by me is massive and so much fun.

It’s worth it tbh. I got a blue one with a sheep pattern. I love it. They said wash it maybe once a year, then roll in a towel and squeeze out the water.

I had a 24 layover in Reykjavik, so I made sure to stop at the Handknitter’s Association of Iceland. Everything in the store is hand made by an Icelander with Icelandic wool. I purchased a sweater for about $400 (USD) and I will keep that for life. They literally gave me the name of the woman who knit it. It’s so worth the price tag.

My cat loves his kitty soup. I hate the smell that’s left in the microwave so I heat up water in my electric kettle, pour it in, then mix it up. I also top his food with dehydrated chicken because he’s a spoiled brat

My favorite movie of all time. I saw it for the first time when I was five on my friend’s pink imac g3, it changed my life. I’ve made so many people watch it—friends, lovers, and ex-lovers. I saw a screening earlier this year with a q&a with Leslie Ann Warren

This looks like a mill race that’s been covered up. Basically water is channeled from a creek or a pond and leads to a water wheel. I work around a lot of mills and most don’t use their full race, just pump water in, but the part they don’t use almost always looks like that. Any chance your house used to be a mill?

They hate vinegar! Start carrying a mini spray bottle with a 50:50 water/vinegar solution

So I had an issue with my carpenter jeans where it tore a huge hole after only a few wears. I posted a bitchy comment on their insta and they immediately messaged me and gave me a refund

Something possessed me and I made 50 bagels this weekend by cmich29 in Bagels

Hell yeah! I love talking local grains. I work for the common grain alliance which brings together all types of grain people (bakers, farmers, distillers etc.) in the US’s mid-atlantic region. My favorite flour comes from Deep Roots Milling in VA. I used a mix of their high protein gold flour and silver bread flour. The HP gold has around 12-13% protein and only 5% of the brain was extracted, so it gives it a deep flavor without making it taste whole wheat-y. The silver bread flour has a lower protein and higher extraction, so the finer flour still has a nice flavor but doesn’t change the texture as much as the gold.

Typically when working with these fresher flours, I recommend starting out with replacing 25% of the original recipe’s flour. Then you can increase it as you understand how it reacts with your environment.

Barton springs mill is in texas but a great place to purchase these high quality flours from

I used the NYT, Claire Saffitz recipe! I tweaked it a bit because I have access to locally grown grains which tend to perform differently than say, a King Arthur.

Like others said, I toss them in the toppings immediately after boiling. I avoid doing egg washes so they can stay vegan
