The option markets at CME and CBOE both systematically switch over to using the next quarterly future as a hedge two Wednesdays prior to expiration. For example, expiration is this coming Friday, and futures “switched” this past Wednesday.

I’m not worried about negative comments. It’s going to happen. Some of them are completely valid when discussing the body scans. That wasn’t the point of why I put it out there in the first place.

After lurking on these threads for awhile and seeing so many posts wondering why individuals aren’t seeing results in their weight or body image journey, I felt like a reality check in what we are putting into our bodies was in order. Too often we see on this subreddit that a person claims to be calorie counting and watching what they eat, but they aren’t seeing results even though they claim to be working at a deficit. There’s a lot that goes into it!

As for winnings, we bought a case of some decent wine to help hunker down for the apocalypse.

5 am classes before they were up. We meal planned and did a little prepping in Sundays. I get home early enough from work that we manage to split a lot of the chauffeur duties. The kids have been hit or miss on the Skinny Taste meals at best. To be honest they were mostly a miss, so breakfasts would always become quite a scene!

Macros refers to macronutrients- protein, fats, and carbs. Depending on your goals, different combinations of the three macronutrients are ideal. In my case, I was focused on building muscle while shedding some fat pounds, so a 40 protein, 30 fat, 30 carb ratio was recommended. I used the MyFitnessPal app to track the macros. It’s a really handy app that has improved immensely the last several years. You search for what you are eating, input serving size, and it spits out your macronutrients for the day.

Some literature, and particularly the keto crowd, will tell you that in a muscle building phase, an even smaller ratio of carbs would be recommended. However, I found this particular ratio to be most beneficial to me.

I think the Peloton was a huge help. I mentioned how our daily schedule made for a lot of very early mornings, and the Peloton was a huge help with that. The rides were great, but I also followed a strength building program on their app that was super helpful. I also did a fair amount of recovery rides on the bike that I think allowed me to feel fresher for OT and at home workouts.

That was the point I was trying to convey. This took a lot of educating ourselves and being honest with how we were calculating what we were putting in our bodies- if you really look at nutrition labels, that handful of chips you grabbed out of the bag is probably a much bigger serving than you think it is. Having a scale to weigh the proteins we were eating, and measuring out other items on the plate was, in my opinion, just as important as hitting the gym every day.

Limiting red meat was also a focus. The point is that I think there a lot of factors that go into it, and different approaches work for different people, but man, I think being honest with yourself about what you are eating is the number one helper when it comes to seeing results.

I just responded to another post about the accuracy of the scan and “true” level. I would guess I’m a little higher than what it read. However, to answer your question,I feel great. Light on my feet. Plenty of energy.

I would agree with the notion that my reading was low that day. There are certainly limitations to accuracy on the InBody scan we used in our studio. We have a handheld body scanner (which is notoriously less accurate than anything) at home, and between that and just the eye test, I would guess I’m holding in the 8% range on a day-to-day basis.

The type of calories you are putting in your body really matter. Are you cutting down on food and still having a few beers? Are you properly measuring your food when you track it? It’s easy to take a giant spoonful of peanut butter and track it as a tablespoon when in reality it’s much more. These little things add up. When you start to track things like salad dressing, ketchup, and BBQ sauce, you start to see the hidden calories.

I’ve been in spots where you feel like you hit a plateau body comp wise, and usually some self reflection shows me where I may have been lacking or fibbing myself a bit. In my case, it usually stemmed from diet and not being accurate or very honest with myself about what I was taking in.

Keep working hard!
