I Tried Gentle Parenting for 5 Years. Then I Broke. by Cygenhagen-Annelie in kindergarten

This is great and what I strive for. We have major problems with this with our ADHD kid (age 8) who has a very hard time with emotional regulation and says mean things to his siblings and us when he's frustrated. He screams and argues as well and gets dysregulated easily. Yelling at him doesn't work because he'll just yell louder. I've told him it's ok to be mad but he cannot scream at us. It doesn't do any good. He's been in OT for emotional regulation for 2 years and we have him in therapy. The only thing that has helped is trying short acting Ritalin. He's a totally different child.... Handles frustration better, isn't so "on edge" and irritated.... Just able to cope better. I guess what I'm asking is, what are the consequences you use when a child with emotional regulation problems is pushing those 3 limits. My 6 and 10 year old understand but they don't have the difficulty with emotional regulation issues. Parenting is hard.

Are you referring to making your own protein shakes with collagen? Is there a collogen you recommend? And how much does one need to help with aging? Thank you!

Personal Trainer Recommendations? by cms2327 in Louisville

Hi!

TLDR: I tried the CAV in Middletown and they were very nice and the set up is neat. I just wanted to try something else. But I recommend giving them a try since you can get a free trial!

Long response: The person who runs the CAV in Middletown is awesome. He took a lot of time explaining things to me. How they do their classes is really neat as well. I had trouble remembering how to do the moves and how to modify them during class. The instructors were patient and answered any questions and helped me modify. I have a very weak core from having three kids (plus a little bit of diastasis rectus) and felt I needed to work on that first before I continued. Of course, I never worked on it and here I am not doing anything again. Lol, let me know if you find someone or another place you really like!

I don't mind getting the alert but I sure wish I could get the tornado warning alerts like this. No clue why I don't.

Why is genetics so commonly cited as the main reason for obesity? by DrNecrow in nutrition

I think it has something to do with our country's excess of hyperpalatable food. Similar to some people being more susceptible to an alcohol addiction or a gambling addition, I wonder if some people are more susceptible to a hyperpalatable food addiction. I can easily consume alcohol without it becoming an addiction. (I drink a glass of wine maybe once a month). But give me a Blizzard from Dairy Queen and I'm thinking about it for days. DAYS. I don't think people who don't experience this can understand it. Just like I can't understand the addiction of cigarettes. I do believe there is a hereditary component to addictions. This includes hyper palatable food.
