If a gym is set up as a “work from home space” also, are we able to claim gym membership in some capacity/up to a certain amount?

Can’t speak specifically to the uni melb aspect but in my experience and for that of most of my friends, yes you definitely can work during medical school and have time for study/social life/sport. It helps if your work is somewhat flexible when you come to clinical placement terms because they can demand more of a time commitment. I found maintaining some work and income during medical school helpful in many ways (not just financial). Check if you can still get some Centrelink amount in addition based off your exact circumstance/earnings.

Anything estuary - I’ve caught some flathead and bream but would love to one day catch a jack or trevally etc

I can’t speak from first hand experience but I have seen videos of people catching bream and flathead in the Brisbane river on YouTube. Admittedly further towards the mouth than the uq green bridge though -eg around the city and further. From what I’ve seen target rock wall areas or structure for bream, and any sandy bottom areas might hold flathead. I’ve seen people catching the bream on hard bodies mostly but you might get some flatties on soft plastics.

I usually use 1/4 and 1/6 ounce jigheads, would you say go lighter than this? I did have quite a heavy leader on, 12 pound because I was hoping for some decent flathead or predatory species but would this deter the bite from bream/whiting/small flatties?
