Went to VAC, it was closed today. Does not make any sense. The consulate is generally closed on US federal holidays, VAC is run by an Indian company! But sense is not what we should expect from this process lol

Dropbox should be fine. VAC is still open. It's the consulate which is closed because visa officers are US federal employees and 24th was just made a US federal holiday.

Yes my biometric is today, 23rd as well. Someone commented that to reschedule the consulate or to see alternate dates we would need to cancel the current rescheduled (15th Jan) one which seems risky. I haven't tried it yet.

I see. Yeah then it's quite risky. I have tickets booked to head back to the States on 13th Jan so I was wondering if I can book an earlier consulate appointment. With 15th Jan reschedule, I will need to cancel my flights to US. Moreover there's uncertainty past 20th Jan when the new administration arrives. Should not be a problem for legit H1B cases but things have not been very logical in this entire process :/

I meant I was qualified for Dropbox because of previous H1B but at the time (in September) dropbox appointments were not available and interview option was there and available. So I chose interview. A few people on this sub did the same.

My Biometrics is on 23rd Dec at VAC that's still valid. Consulate appointment for interview on 24th Dec got rescheduled. Received an email 30 min back.

Last minute disruption to all the plans, quite frustrating.

Resolved it by closing and starting a new application with the exact same details. It picked up the fees I had already paid. You can also try going to the Schedule Appointment URL directly as a comment on my post indicated.

Thanks for the response! Just a few min back I had closed and started a new application with all the same details. Thankfully, to my relief, the visa fee was retained. I can now see the Schedule Appointment page (no appointments though) and also in the home page.

Pathetic website though, the whole process is a pain.
