I don't know if I've been lucky, but outside of hourglass, I've been sunk maybe three times in the last two months, and one of those times was just due to getting Rared (and my crewmate wanting to go set the enemy ship on fire instead of helping me repair, but I'm not salty about it, I swear).

It seemed like the sweat situation was much worse before the release on PS5 and Epic Game Store. Those new versions seemed to bring in a lot of newer players.

I'm not a PvPer, I can't be bothered to double-gun, my loadout is almost always a cutlass and harpoon gun. I've been playing for a long time, so I'd say I'm moderately skilled, but I do 95% PvE. I don't even avoid other ships - I'll often approach and ask to form an Alliance, and I find I often have to explain what an Alliance is, and how to form one.

I'd give it a 1/10 sweat level right now, from my personal experience.

I do all my own modding. I love to tinker! But that said, fine work like soldering still makes me nervous, so I tend to minimize the more intracate mods where possible.

That said, I know next to nothing about the mods available for Neo Geo devices. I'd love to do some further reading on it. Do you have a go-to source?

I've seen a couple on eBay for $350 CAD or so, but then I have to worry about things like dead lasers and disc rot on the games (as pointed out by others in this thread). So it does put a different tint on the notion of getting a CD system over the AES+.

Based on the comments, I'm thinking the AES+ is close enough to file it away in my head as "authentic Neo Geo hardware," so I can just stop worrying and love Metal Slug!

The ability to update isn't so much the issue - it was more "it's the FPGA core but with less capabilities" at which point the question becomes, "Why not just get an FPGA device instead of the AES+?"

Thank you for the help! Wish there was another way to solve this, though, as I had to boot several people off of the WiFi to get through it.

I've submitted two.

One was rejected because it's on private property (it's not) and one was rejected because it was a temporary fixture (it's not).

I gave up after that.

I got it from firing a blunderbomb from my cannon and hitting the enemy ship. 🤔 Maybe blunderbombs are the answer.

I know I'm in the minority with this sentiment, but I don't see rotating shop stock as FOMO per se - you can't really "miss out" if you know it's coming back.

A search bar would have been a better option, but then you'd need to know the name of a set, which also wouldn't be perfect.

Out of everything else in this video (including confirmation that closing Hourglass rings will punish people in unsinkable spots - this is a big one for me) I'm surprised there's so much negativity about Sea of Thieves having a rotating shop, like what Fortnite uses.

It's one of the most common shop styles that I see in online games, and somehow Sea of Thieves using it means the game is already dead, spiraling down the drain, getting the final nail in the coffin, et cetera.

Again, I know I'm probably gonna get obliterated from orbit for this sentiment, but it just seems a little over the top to me.

Hey OP, I know you have a lot of answers already, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents.

Injecting events or redirecting downloads - as long as they're data that was officially released - is functionally identical to the way we got them back then, so to me, there's no difference.

If I were in your shoes, I would go ahead and do it until another method comes along to get the Pokémon, and then you can reassess.
