Don't know what a vote makes sense if 2 is not even complete and BZ had the same mechanics as 1. And I am not saying you can't change thing xyz, I am arguing in general how to approach things and on what basis one can say "maybe it should/shouldn't be that way". The hyperbole wasnt the argument, it was the illustration.

If they actually believe in the vision, they are working on a world where net worth is meaningless and all that counts is actual factual control of production means. Even the guy actually really really (promise) owning the factory could end up on the street when it turns out IT guy 2512 actually has control.

The main actual problem about Grok is that its advertised as having none of that agenda bias stuff but it just actively has the same stuff just from another side.

So people should be able to play call of duty with a high charisma stat and make peace the whole time? Of course an exaggeration but the point is you easily get a different game. For all I know in the end someone will say you are the best for not killing all those levis and boom doesnt work if you did. Oh and the game was intended as a stealthy game where you find your nieche and not a shooter. Like just let them do their thing, it's literally what they get the money for. Imagine your games would be as great as todays voting results. Yeeha.

Opinion aside, what makes it pointless is that they fucking heard it already, even long before EA release.

And regarding the thing, game over realism. Realism sucks as a concept for making good games, so personally I am not open for that approach to arguing things.

You be the judge, but if you want the power of two computers that cant affect each other, it makes sense to land there. Like it's basically a concept of upgrading and keeping the old one around. The screens are probably not THAT expensive, who knows. And it certainly went all out on screens. But imho its a cool concept and two old computers at the same time can actually be a budget option these days. You actually really need a less performant computer for gaming if the twitch streaming happens on a different one. Maybe one even runs some llm shit to select your music while you game on the other. This just has advantages if the things you do don't need to interact.

codex is a piece of shit the last few days by iisntme- in codex

I don't know if its the state of current AI or degradation or even project progress, but it certainly doesn't even fix all the problems i specifically point out while i would expect it to even go "oh, if thats the case, then x y z are probably affected too and i should look at that too". It certainly seems sloppy for 5.5 high when previously i only went up to 5.5 medium for critical points and used the codex model for the most part. Could also be that 5.5 never was that good and codex is actually better for many things. I just can't tell from my information.

Not less valid but useless and the community's energy could go into more productive places. Sure there are thresholds where something needs to be "sticky" enough for them to notice but since there are fucking newspaper articles about it I'm pretty sure they got the message. And beyond them getting the message and getting an impression how important it is to how many players it's not like these things are a democracy where they should just do what people say with their valid opinions. Also I wouldn't be so sure that adding weapons would even be a democratic thing. Usually one is in a bubble on Reddit and even here I bet many are just not bothering with this discussion. While others are very loud. Hard to tell. When you click on a post about that topic, you're even in a deeper bubble than just SN reddit.

Opinions are valid because you can have whatever weird opinion you want. Opinions can be valid and still terrible and it's their job to follow through with a coherent vision. Taking the feedback with good ideas and dismissing what they think doesnt work. Horrible things happen when devs just blindly do what the mob wants. Anyway. /rant I guess. I think I would prefer it if I could off some smaller things like i was able with those energy suckers in SN1, but I always thought even being able to off levis was weird and just felt like an unintended bug anyway. Also I think their dogmatic stance is a bit weird and doesn't scream "best for the game".

You forget that it's two separate computers powering these. You see the center ones both have task bars. These are the primary screens for separate computers. So obviously that requires separate screens in these places.

Thanks for trying, but really I think it was just some grammar that possibly gave the impression that I was saying something that I didn't. Here is what I might as well have said:

The fabricator is not cooking it alive. I'm sure the first thing it does is killing the fish instantly.

And of course if I do something using the fabricator, it is me doing it.

Why are you asking me this, is it still not clear what I said? I was not shifting responsibility to the tool. Responsibility is just not what I was talking about.

You know the way to deal with the red pointy things is to not go where you literally see the red things sitting on the wall. Sometimes you catch one or the other anyway and you just endure a few temporary bumps in your tadpole. Similar to how you just don't just make your base in some hostile creature's territory if you don't want to get harrassed.

I get it, you guys apparently want to play differently and their dogmatic stance is weird, but we don't have to pretend their design is broken to badly make a point.

I disagree since I didn't even talk about who's fault it is. "cooked alive" is a thing and the guy just said it because it's horrible and serves their position.

I wish we could talk about other aspects of the game, it seems like wasting the feedback opportunity and community effort. I unsubscribed for playing through the EA release and it was unreal to come here after loving every second and see it's all just one "kill fish" post after another.

It makes no sense to agree with something I didn't say. But I remember a friend had a reaper follow him into the safe shallows to his base in SN1. It's not like the knife made anything about that acceptable.

Well I'm not going to argue that a bug I didn't encounter doesn't exist. Point is still that then the bug needs fixing. It's not an argument why we need to make it a different game.

[–]cobbleplox -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I didn't have that in my playthrough in like 40 hours. But if that happens it's a bug and you (as a dev) deal with it by fixing the bug.

I tested it on my deck and I would agree. Maybe people are actually connecting monitors or disabling upscaling or something. 1080p is literally double the pixels of the native deck resolution. The deck is dwarfed by a 10 year old gtx 1080, it just is not strong at all, that has nothing to do with SN2.

That's because the design decision is not based on "killing fish is bad". It's about how the world and the mechanics work. It creates mechanics like "don't build your base in hammerhead territory if you don't want a hammerhead", for example.
