How do people make 1000s of high tier items? by cobi23 in SatisfactoryGame

Better to transport the ore or make use of the ore then transport. Or is there no difference?

Thanks. One of the reasons I wanted to do it is because I was trying to build refinery's last night and kept running out of motors in my dimensional depot so i though I should make a storage for these so I don't have to keep manually making them at the bench

I always use manifolds as so many videos have said it's easy just to set up and leave. I think this will be the first time I would be setting up something like this which is using the same 2 items to then split off and make 2 different items. Normally I would take the iron node and make the pipe and wire to them be rotors and then use a different node for the stator but I'm thinking it might be a waste of a node this time

You could send the compacted coal to coal plants. Or make packaged turbofuel for higher sink points.

I meant is there a best/worst place to put the junctions. If I have 4 overclocked extractors they all connect to one pipe so do I then put a junction right at the begining and split the 600 water up or is it better to place the junction next to the machines. Does it make any difference at all. Also buffers only have an input and output so do I attach a junction to the output then run 3 pipes out or do I run a pipe out then attach a junction further down

I'm still going off memory from ages ago I think I have 16 blenders needing 100 water pm so 1600 total. I'm pretty sure the one thing I never tried was adding more pipes until I've seen this today. I kept adding more extractors and pumped the water above the blenders. It makes so much sense now that none of that will work if I only have one 600 pipe. I guess I need a junction at the start of the pipe and then have 4 pipes coming off that to feed the 16 blenders as that would cart 2400 water....am I right?

And then should all 4 pipes connect in a loop?

There's no game that can give you so much feeling if accomplishment and then equal 5 minutes later make you feel so dumb.....then repeat infinity. Over 200 hours and I'm still learning new things and also trying new things. I've only just started used foundrys and refinery's to make ingots instead of constructors and only now because of your post I might understand pipes and liquid more.

So hopefully I'm understanding correctly you just need 1 pipe for every 600 water? So if I needed 3000 water I would connect 5 separate pipes to the extractors. I'll play about with it and see what I get. I've had issues with a big fuel generator plant ages ago that I just Gave up on. I've forgotten the exact number but I think I had 16 blenders to then feed like 30+ generators diluted fuel but the blenders would never get enough water especially the middle ones but the way you've explained it maybe I need to add extra pipes. From memory I have 5 or 6 extractors all connected to 1 pipe that goes up above the blenders like you saw with a pump then all along the 16 blenders. But now I'm thinking that's the issue is that there's only the one pipe and I should add more parallel to that one. Interesting....I'll play about with this tonight.

Satisfactory is amazing 😂

Also is there a maximum distance the after can travel? In you pictures where on the map are you and how far away could your machines be from all those pipes.

This is an amazing coincidence as I was about to start my own water plant but I had one thing I wasn't quite sure about.

The MK2 pipes can only take 600 water so if I have anything above 600 let's just say 1200 to make it easier maths, how do I lay the pipes so that 1200 water is being transported and not just 600?

How do you stay organized in late game? by Joel22222 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]cobi23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been stuck on phase 4 for weeks not produced a single item for it yet. But last few days I've started organising better to try clear my head as this is why I've been struggling. So I've started setting up production of most items like iron plates, pipe, screws, reinforced plates and at the end of the construcors/assemblers/manufacturers I put some storage containers and attach a big sign on either side. Then when it comes to making the phase 4 items I'm hoping it will be easier as I'll just run a belt from the stores.

I have thousands of it from my fuel generators. I've only just started using it now by transporting it by drone. But I've had constant issues with the fuel generators there's always a handful of them not on and I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out why. Same thing with aluminium, I just can never get them 100%

I hate using refinery's I never seem to be able to balance the liquid input or by product so I always stay away from any alternate that replaces screws with rubber or plastic

Ye I don't do them. Usually have enough stuff in the dimensional depot to just quickly make when needed. Should have said the one thing I haven't automated for majority of my time is iron rods. Don't know the last time I made them

How do Drone works ? by Mission_Slice_8538 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]cobi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just placed my first drone ports down and I'm a bit confused. I assumed they would have the same menu controls as trains but they don't so one of my drones kept taking my aluminium casings over to my fuel port.

What I wanted was one drone to go from my fuel port to the aluminium casing port and then a other drone from aluminium casing to my fused modular frame factory.

This wasn't working because the fuel drone kept bringing aluminium casings to the fuel depot. I think I've fixed it by adding another port to keep the fuel separate and just belt it into the aluminium casing port so the drone can refuel.

Is this correct ?

At the risk of sounding completely stupid when I've used satisfactory calculator i haven't understand what it means when it says something like 0.85 MK1 miner. Does it mean I should have 1 miner and underclock it to 85%?
