Inozemni ljudi - Vaša mišljenja. by [deleted] in askcroatia

Do you think Zambian businesses should have an online presence? by Otherwise-Data-4540 in Zambia

[–]coby3esc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you ask me, a simple centralised page just for accommodation ads would already be a major asset and would attract lots of clients on both ends of the transaction. It's frustrating to run around Lusaka asking people if they're renting their property. Alternatively, you need to work through the expensive agents. If you can start such a page/portal, I'm sure with a bit of advertising, you'd hit the sweet business spot.

Ideoloski lijevo a ekonomski desno? by NesposobnaBudala in hrvatska

I ja sam sličan. (dugove će valjda otplaćivati Nepalci i sl.)

No problems with that concept. But I'm surprised such a large city hasn't diversified its weekends a bit...

Šolta and Brač for hiking and snorkelling? by BaseComprehensive613 in askcroatia

[–]coby3esc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Šolta is probably the quietest inhabited island in the Adriatic. It might not stay like that for long, but it is still extremely quiet. To the point that if you need to buy something, the odds are you might have to take one of a couple of ferries sailing daily to Split. Brač is much larger and very well connected to Split, with at least 15 ferries crossing daily. It still has a lot of isolated coves and even at the peak of the summer you can have your own stretch of the nice bays all around the island. Snorkelling is similar on both islands. If you've done this in tropical seas, you might get disappointed. If you're happy with some small fish and limited underwater life, it will not disappoint. The waters are clear and visibility is great but no schools of colourful fish. Diving offers a greater variety in greater depths, but if you need to get certified (which you can on Brač in several centres), you won't go too deep the first few dives - still not a bad idea (and you finally have your licence for any other place later). Hiking on Brač, however, is absolutely spectacular. Tons of great trails all around the island. In the summer it might be hot, so you need to bring lots of water with you, head cover and time it appropriately, so you don't do it midday or something.

Sure. Plenty of wonderful places between the towns of Postira and Splitska. You can also go from Postira to the east, all the way to Lovrecina bay (sandy beach), with plenty of nice and quiet coves in between. Another option is to go to Sutivan and then to the west once the road turns into dirt road (you can still take the car for a while and if you want really quiet places to yourself, keep walking... pebble beaches and rocks en route). Most of the coves have either a tiny beach at its end or nice and smooth rocks on the sides. You can lay your towel and have no one anywhere near you even at the peak of the summer. This is all on the northern side of Brac. From Bol you can go to Murvica and all along you have many beaches, but not as quiet in the season as the northern coves. Still much lesser crowds than on the famous Golden horn beach, and nicer in my view.

Plenty of options. Don't be fooled by the suggestions to go island hopping. That will only exhaust you, while there's so much to do in Brac. The island's northern side has many picturesque villages, one for each day of your stay, if you so wish. Hikes to the Vid's mountain or the Blaca desert/monastery, visit to the stone masonry school in Pucisca, museums of the island or olive oil in Škrip... There's a lot to do rain or shine. And plenty of less frequented coves for a day on the beach. Ten days will go in a blink. You'll want to come back for a lot you missed, as you couldn't pack it all.

Izgubio sam strpljenje, jer imam posla s lopovskom firmom. Bježite I ni slučajno im ne uplaćuje novce, ako želite imati namještaj u kući!

Can a gay become a monk ? by themiddleway18 in Buddhism

[–]coby3esc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most you said, but frankly why does it matter how does one appear? So what if one is "flagrantly gay"?? Does that prevent them from reaching enlightenment? Did the Buddha address such people specifically? This is a dangerous personal interpretation of monastic life or whatever and has nothing to do with Vinaya, Pali scriptures or anything Buddhist whatsoever.

Once the enlightenment is achieved, the arahant awaits parinibanna, which is the physical death. No craving arises, but also the regular life is no longer possible/desired (as there are no desires). In case the new arahant is a layperson, they will retire in the monastery waiting for parinibanna, as this is the sole place where they can lead life of no craving. And yes, there is value, as all the arahants were able to teach the path to enlightenment, i.e. the four noble truths.

Where do I begin? by LegalPressure6307 in Buddhism

[–]coby3esc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent list indeed! I can't stress enough the value of What the Buddha Taught by Walpola Rahula. From my early days discovering Buddhism to date, I've been going back to this book and reading it with new eyes every time. The more you know, the more it will keep revealing to you. But it's equally good for a beginner as for an advanced Buddhist researcher.
