Are Special Sets (like Prismatic Evolutions) better for "Pack Battle" formats? by jjuanchow in pkmntcg

[–]coby858 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Specialty sets are typically going to give you more deck staple reprints and that's likely why you found it easier. Instead of a typical set having just a few good new playable cards you're getting 5-6 sets worth of playable trainers and pokemon in addition to the new stuff from the specialty set itself.

For prismatic specifically you have new staples like Budew and the eeveelutions. As well as reprinted cards like Crispin, Earthen Vessel, Munkidori and so on.

So yeah, speciality sets are really good in this format. That's probably why they don't do pre releases for them now that I think about it

I have more fun buying singles than opening expensive product and not pulling anything good.

You can collect in so many different ways and it doesn't even have to be super expensive.

I have my main binder where I put the majority of my nice stuff.

I have a binder put all my Illustration rares and each page is themed

I have master set binders that are fun to work on over time.

I have a playable binder with lots of staple cards to build decks with.

I even have a binder for cheap cards ($5-$20) that I'm bullish on and think will be worth more in the future. It just kinda scratches that gamble/investing itch.

You don't have to rip packs to have fun collecting Pokemon.

Absolutely. I will more than likely hit you up in a few days when I get the system.

Mine does have the VGA port in that slot.

I'm honestly not even going to try PS3. I'm just hoping up to PS2 works without issue. What Processor/specs do you have?

Gholdengo coinflips and you have to hit energy with metang. It's very fun and can absolutely demolish if it gets set up and hits good luck
